Barbara and Oscar Woodcock, Northampton (155 Miles from Gigg Lane): Not as exiled as some but we still can't get to Gigg Lane as often as we would like; thank goodness for Shakers Player!
Tony Duckworth, Warsaw, Poland (1,210 Miles from Gigg Lane): Bin day keeps changing, I’m confused!
Loy White, Newcastle on Tyne (150 Miles from Gigg Lane): For many many years I used to watch The Shakers with my Dad as a teenager. Remember changing ends at half time walking round the pitch went to lots of away matches too, Favourite players George Jones and Jimmy Kerr. Always look for the results.
Martin Pilling, Tenerife (Approx 1,874 Miles from Gigg Lane): Lived here for 13 years not seen Bury live in all this time except when live on tv , favorite player Craig Madden, thank god for Shakers Player
Paul Jacques, Dublin (198 from Gigg Lane): Still a devoted Shaker! Eat, Sleep, Bury!!
Mike Williams, Whangaparaoa, Auckland, New Zealand (Approx 11,500 miles from Gigg Lane): Can’t get a decent black pudding for love nor money and New Zealand TV never show the Mighty Shakers but they did tease us a few weeks back with a glimpse of Bury Market, including Chadwick’s BP stall
Dave Pinder (ex Boys Stand Gigg), Bonita Springs S/W Florida, (4,359 miles from Gigg Lane): There’s a Burger Bar here called Buffalo Chips with a Bury FC Sticker on the wall that must have been there since the mid 80’s...!! Who was responsiible for that? Good luck for 2012/13
Jeff Handley, Minehead, Somerset (236 Miles from Gigg Lane):
Paul & Joe Forrest, Limoges, South West France (750 Miles from Gigg Lane): Thats not too bad when you consider that nearest Ligue ! team is 200 miles away. Limoges FC is in ligue 6 !!
Paul Johnston, Huntington Woods, Michigan, Detriot (3,738 Miles from Gigg Lane): We are a household of Bury fans, me - Dad - born in Radcliffe, Mom from here, and our lad who has his first birthday at the end of July. Football is really popular here in this vibrant multi-cultural city. People ask me - you were born near Manchester so are you a United or City fan? I say, Vincit Omnia Industria. Shakers Shakers Ra Ra Ra
Chris and Dan Freer, Didcot, Oxfordshire (190 miles from Gigg Lane): Journey time: 3 hours, on a good day.
Francis Logan, Chesterfield (67.1 miles from Gigg Lane): Not as far from Bury as some other folk, but far enough. Planning to get over is an event in itself, so thankfully there’s the commentary.
Peter and Jane Taylor, Potton, Bedfordshire (186 miles from Gigg Lane).
Ian Taylor, Laleham, Near Staines, Middlesex (213 Miles from Gigg Lane)
Kieran Lomax, Gold Coast, Australia (10,280 Miles from Gigg Lane): Always listening to Shakers Player regardless of time of day. Up the Shakers
Ken & Janine Jones, Auckland, New Zealand (Approx 11,500 Miles from Gigg Lane): Having to put up with watching Auckland City FC, not quite the same....
Mark Nixon, Sudbury, Soffolk (250 Miles from Gigg Lane): From the Walshaw Whites
Les Lowe, Sittingbourne, Kent (262 Miles from Gigg Lane): Originally from Bury but have lived 'down south for 20 years.
Andy Krupa & son Stasiu, Stoke Lyne, Oxon (150 Miles from Gigg Lane): Go to as many south east away matches as poss, and home games when visiting family. 9 yr old son accompanies me to all games, thank god he’s not utd! 7 year old daughter used to go but was scared off by the atmosphere at Stevenage, last game 2 seasons ago! But she used to do a mean Egyptian sand dance celebration when The Shakers scored!
Gareth Ellis, Geleen, Southern Holland (520 Miles from Gigg Lane): My second team is now PSV, 520 miles in total. Last saw Bury 2010-2011 when we panned Stevanage 3-0 at home, another game got cancelled that weekend due to the weather.
Carrie & Will Puzzar, Geraldton, Western Australia. (Approx 9,000 Miles from Gigg Lane): They play 'football' with the wrong shape ball over here! But believe it or not we've bumped into Bury fans in this regional town!! Flying the shakers flag wherever we go! Only problem is we live with an Everton fan. At least it's not Bolton ha ha!!
Martin Wood, Farnborough, Hampshire (230 miles from Gigg Lane): Been in the south now for over 30 years but still just as keen - we get to most of the Southern away games. Internet has revolutionised the way in which we can all keep in touch (My mum used to have to post me Bury Times match reports). My Shaker son is better informed about the team and developments from Hampshire than I was at his age when I lived 2 miles away and went every week. Big thanks to Gordon and team for all of this - especially the commentaries.
