Bury's impressive winning streak came to an end in their final home game last week against Wycombe, but they were still very much in contention for the league title. They would, however, need to win this game and hope table-toppers Chesterfield","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;" href="#">Chesterfield didn't win theirs.

Bury were due to have their civic reception in Bury the following day to celebrate their promotion, but they weren't going to turn their noses up at a possible title-winning match.

The home side had John Mousinho, Luke Foster and Peter Winn all suspended, while Efe Sodje reclaimed his starting place ahead of Ben Futcher.

Ryan Lowe beat the offside trap after one minute of play, but his shot was blocked by Chris Day for a Bury corner. The ball ended up with Kyle Bennett on the edge of the box, but his lobbed effort went just over the bar.

Bennett squared the ball to Lowe on 6 minutes as he waited on the outside of the box, but his drilled shot was saved by Day just in front of his line.
