Bury got the game underway with the best possible start, a goal in just two minutes.A good diagonal ball from Phil Picken across the pitch found Mike Jones in full flow; he took the ball forward cut past former Shaker Paul Scott and fired a low ball into the bottom left hand corner of the goal.

Amazingly the Shakers should have doubled their lead two minutes later when a good ball from David Worrall found Lenell John-Lewis on the corner of the Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe box. Some good close control from the former Lincoln striker saw him shoot at goal, unfortunately his effort flew across the goal and just wide of the opposite post.

A long ball forward from Cameron Belford on 10 minutes brought an excellent flick on from John-Lewis, the ball fell for Ryan Lowe who did well to beat his man and fire the ball on target, with keeper Barry Roche beaten though, the ball flew off the upright and back into play allowing the home side to clear their lines.

Another chance came Bury's way on 14 minutes when a well taken free kick by Steven Schumacher found David Worrall.Worrall cleverly brought the ball down whilst moving forward, took it past his man and fired at goal; unfortunately his effort was well blocked by a defender and cleared.

Moments later a rash challenge on Mozika brought another free kick, though this time a robust headed clearance from Andy Parrish had the ball clear and away from danger.

On 18 minutes we had a change of referee, Mr Haywood was unable to continue due to what looked like a pulled calf muscle and he was replaced by Mr Dermott and the fourth official, Mr Simpson took to the field to run the line.

With 20 minutes on the clock the Shakers had another chance well saved by Barry Roche in the Shrimps goal, turning away Lowe's first time shot following a flick on from Mozika. That wasn't then end of Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe's problems however as the corner from Jones was only half cleared to Shakers skipper Steven Schumacher who slammed home a stunning shot from just outside the area for his first goal in the glorious white shirt.

It was Damian Mozika's turn next to test the Shrimps defence on 31 minutes. A lovely little backheeled flick by Ryan Lowe sent him through but a late challenge from Jim Bentley just put him off his shot and the ball skimmed the bar much to the relief of the big centre back.

Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe finally tested Cameron Belford in the 38th minute when he was forced to turn over a shot from Stuart Drummond. This was the beginning of a small spell of corners for the men in red but the Bury defence dealt with everything that came their way.

As the half drew to a close Cameron Belford made another super save turning away from Shrimps winger Mark Duffy. The ex-Southport man cut inside Joe Skarz before unleashing his shot but from the resulting corner the ball wasn't cleared beyond the halfway line and a long punt forward from ex- Shaker Andy Parrish was only headed clear to the edge of the D where it found Stuart Drummond who volleyed home through a ruck of players with Cameron Belford unsighted.

GOAL Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe 1 - 2 Bury (Drummond 45)

Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe even found time for another effort on goal when Tony Capaldi fed Paul Mullin but the big, bald striker couldn't get any power on his shot and the Bury custodian saved easily.

Half Time: Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe 1 - 2 Bury

Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe got the second half under way with no substitutions made by either side but less than three minutes into the second period the Shrimps had the ball in the net, only for it to be chalked off for offside. A free kick swung in from the left by Drummond was met by ex-Shaker Paul Scott but his joy was short lived as the linesman on the far side had raised his flag as soon as the ball was struck.

The crowd of 2,607 at the Globe Arena were seeing the game swing from end to end with the Shakers playing some crisp passing football with one move in particular stringing together fifteen passes before Worrall cut inside and forced a smart save from Roche. That was the young wingers last contribution before being replaced by Andy Haworth.

Bury Sub: Haworth on for Worrall 63

In a surprising switch the Shakers leading scorer Ryan Lowe was replaced by on loan youngster Nicky Ajose

Bury Sub: Ajose on for Lowe 67

By this time the Shakers were having to mount a furious rearguard action as the Shrimps piled forward in search of an equaliser. First Belford was forced into a great save from Mullin when he tipped the ex-Accrington man's dipping half volley over the bar before Stuart Drummond fired just over from 25 yards as Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe dominated the game in much the same way the Shakers had done in the first half.

BurySub: Futcher on for Picken 74

On 76 it was Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe's turn to see the ball bounce back off the woodwork as Drummond's header hit the post after a good cross by Jevons.

Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe sub: Spencer for Jevons 77

Straight after the Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe substitution a good challenge in midfield from Schumacher found John-Lewis who laid the ball off to Ajose and the youngster skinned Tony Capaldi and squared the ball to Andy Haworth to tapped home from six yards out for his first league goal for the club and much to the delight of the Shakers bench.

Goal: Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe 1 - 3 Bury (Haworth 77)

Young Ajose was back in the action again a minute later when he dispossessed Duffy on the left wing and let go a ferocious shot from the edge of the area which Roche could only parry back to the lively striker but his shot was held at the second attempt by the Shrimps 'keeper.

Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe Sub: Wilson on for Capaldi 83

The Shakers youngster was at it again in the 88th minute when he skinned Andy Parrish down the right hand flank and laid on a simple tap in for Shakers skipper Schumacher to slide home his second on the night and Bury's fourth. That sent the majority of the crowd off into the night and the travelling Shakers support of around six hundred wild with delight.

GOAL: Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe 1 - 4 Bury (Schumacher 88)

Jim Bentley headed a free kick against the bar deep into injury time for Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe but that was the final action of the game which saw Morecambe","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;">Morecambe suffer their first ever home defeat at their new Globe Arena and whilst the Shrimps had a good deal of the ball in the second half it was a clinical performance by Alan Knill's side and the second three points on their travels in the space of four days.
