On a cold foggy night in Staffordshire, and with the Shakers looking resplendent in their away kit, the Shakers got the game underway kicking away from the Bury fans.Early pressure from the Shakers brought a corner for the Shakers though the delivery from Mike Jones saw Efe Sodje foul keeper Adam Legzdins.

Burton almost took the lead on five minutes when Aaron Webster drifted a good ball into the box, it flew across the six yard area without any player managing to get a contact leaving Fon Williams watching the ball go out of play for a goal kick.

Another Bury attack on eight minutes saw Schumacher spray the ball across the box to Ajose, though he seemed to stumble across the ball leaving Jones to take charge, in doing so the Burton defence rallied and cleared the ball.

Thankfully Joe Skarz delivered the ball back to Jones, he quickly turned and curled a stunning shot into the keepers top right hand corner, leaving Legzdins absolutely no chance to put the Shakers a goal up.

Another chance came Bury's way on fourteen minutes with Haworth knocking a good ball across the front of the area for Ryan Lowe.Lowe took one touch to take ball around a defender before attempting to curl it at goal, unfortunately his aim was slightly off and the ball flew high wide and handsome of the target.

Burton showed their footballing ability on 18 minutes with a fourteen pass move that finished with a curling ball into the box, striker Jacques Maghoma took the ball with a firm header that flew high over the Shakers bar.Former Rochdale","height=600, width=800,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,toolbar=1,location=1");return false;" href="#">Rochdale player Nathan Stanton had another chance for the home side on 21 minutes with a driven shot that caused problems for Fon Williams, but sailed harmlessly wide of the target.

Burton got back into the game on 28 minutes with Bolder taking a shot on goal, keeper Fon Williams got his body behind the ball but couldn't hold onto it, James Collins followed up to smash the ball into the back of the net.

Bury almost hit back straight away with a free kick from Steven Schumacher.His curling shot on goal brought a good stop form the keeper, but again, he failed to hold onto it.Efe Sodje latched onto the ball and fired back at goal, but again Legzdins managed to scramble across and block the shot.

A Bury free kick on 32 minutes saw Mike Jones swing the ball into the box, though this time his delivery was too close to the keeper and Legzdins caught it as it curled into his area.

A Bury break on 35 minutes saw Ryan Lowe take the ball into the corner, his quick ball into the box almost found Nicky Ajose but a good stretched toe from Nathan Stanton saw the ball pushed away from the on loan Manchester United striker.

Pressure from the home side just before half time same to nothing with the Shakers defence holding firm.Damien Mozika in particular was tracking back and getting in some good challenges.Collins took the ball past Sodje on the stroke of half time and clipped the top of the Shakers bar before falling out of play for a goal kick.

Bury's final attempt of the first half saw a cheeky little ball into the box looking to catch the keeper of guard, with Ajose flying across the keepers sight, Legzdins managed to collect and hold the ball.

Steven Schumacher failed to make the second half and was replaced by Peter Sweeney.Bury started the second half looking the brighter of the two sides with some good balls knocked forward for Nicky Ajose to chase, but on three occasions, covering defenders held off the Bury born youngster allowing the ball to drift out of play.

Good work from Efe Sodje on 49 minutes produced a corner for the home side but the resulting delivery proved to be awful allowing the Shakers to restart the game from the goal kick.

Bury retook the lead on 53 minutes when Phil Picken sprayed the ball forward.Nicky Ajose took one touch to lift the ball over the keeper to drop the ball into the back of the Burton goal.

Good work from Andy Haworth moments later saw him take the ball into the corner before delivering the ball into the near post from the corner, though fortunately for the home side, straight into the keeper's arms.

Andy Haworth again almost increased the Shakers lead with a sublime touch to control the ball, he swerved one way, then the other before unleashing a stunning shot on goal that beat the keeper but crashed back into play off the crossbar allowing McGrath to clear.

Another chance came seconds later with a good ball forward from Skarz, Ryan Lowe chested the ball down to Ajose but his first time shot lacked pace allowing the keeper to collect fairly easily.

Burton should have made it all square on 61 minutes when Harrad delivered a good ball into the box, Bolder won the header but failed to find the target from three yards out.Burton had another chance on 63 minutes when Stanton curled the ball into the box, Harrad somehow managed to twist his leg and connect with the ball but could only find the side netting.

A Bury free kick on 69 minutes brought a stunning delivery from Mike Jones, Burton got the ball away but only to Nicky Ajose, he quickly delivered the ball back into the bix where Tom Lees got his head to the ball but brought a good save from the home keeper.

Another Bury corner on 72 minutes saw Peter Sweeney deliver a deep corner, Efe Sodje rose above the home defence and nearly broke the net with the power behind his header to make it 3-1.

A shot from Andy Haworth on 78 minutes brought some concern for the home fans, but Haworth shot curled wide of the target.Seconds later, Haworth was replaced with David Worrall.

Bury had another chance to increase their lead on 84 minutes, David Worrall with the final shot that brought a good save out of Legzdins.They got the ball forward where Harrad saw his shot on goal superbly saved by Fon Williams.

Fon Williams produced another good stop on 87 minutes when a Young cross brought a good punch clear.Before the throw could be taken though, Ryan Lowe was replaced by Lenell John-Lewis.The ball was launched into the box and Webster, with an open goal in front of him, headed the ball wide of the target.

Bury should have increased their lead on 90 minutes.A long ball played forward found John-Lewis and his deft touch released Ajose, somehow though and with the keeper beaten, he failed to find the target and the ball rolled wide of the target.A left footed drive from Lenell John-Lewis has the home keeper scrambling across his area, but again the ball flew wide of the target.
