were going into this game against Morecambe
searching for the first win in 6 games, Morecambe
on the other hand were looking to extend their unbeaten streak to 8 games.
The first chance of the first-half came 8 minutes in. Tom Soares struck a right footed effort from the right hand side of the box which was deflected by Barry Roche, the ball bounced back into the box with the rebounding effort falling to Anton Forrester. Forrester lined up his shot but was unable to get any real power behind the ball, he could only watch on and see his effort trickle wide of the post.
Padraig Amond came close to edging the Shrimps in front after 15 minutes. Ryan Williams had threaded a swift through ball to Amond who had managed to shake off his man and break away on a run just inside the Bury
area. Amond advanced towards goal as Brian Jensen came off his line, creating a one vs one. But Jensen was on guard and managed to palm the powerful shot out wide of the goal.
had started the game the much brighter of the two sides, pressurising Morecambe
at any opportunity with a confident and creative play.
were continuing to push hard for the opening goal. Jordan Sinnott had the opportunity to take a shot on goal just outside the Morecambe
area, with the home support urging him to do so, but rather than take the chance Sinnott played a nice ball through to an advancing Craig Jones
on the wing. Jones played a darting low cross into the box but the advancing white shirts were unable to get a foot onto the ball.
A great display of persistence from Craig Jones
on line when fighting to keep the ball in play led to a Bury
corner. Sinnott drove the ball high into the centre of the box, but due to its height it was easily brought down by keeper Barry Roche.
was proving to be the difference for the Shakers causing the Morecambe
midfielders and back men problems with his pace and skill down the wing.
's frustration was beginning to show 10 minutes before half-time after they had failed to reap any reward from their spells of attractive play and dominating of possession. A poorly dealt with cross from Morecambe
saw the ball land at the feet of Tommy Miller who wasted no time in threading the ball through to Andy Procter, but Procter's awkward angle meant he failed to get any real power or leverage behind the shot.
Just minutes later Andy Procter was presented with another opportunity inside the box. A long throw from Shaun Beeley met the head of Soares in the centre of the box. Soares flicked the ball off the back of his head behind him, the ball fell neatly Procter who managed to get behind it for an attempt on goal but his header was met by the finger tips of Roche parrying it over the net.
The last chance of the half fell to new loanee Jordan Mustoe. A Craig Jones
cross was cleared and landed at the feet of Mustoe who struck a right footed strike from 30 yards out. The shot fired past the Morecambe
defence but it was met by the palms of Roche; non the less it was a great display of confidence and skill by the young left back.
The first card of the game came just before half-time. Mark Hughes was awarded a yellow card after a strong challenge on Craig Jones
just outside the Morecambe
were going into half-time the dominant side but were going off disappointed after failing to capitalise on their strong performance.

's first substitution of the game. An injured Craig Jones
was replaced by Chris Sedgwick.
First chance of second half fell to Morecambe
in the 51st minute when Ryan Williams struck a powerful effort just outside of the box but his shot flew wide to the left hand side of Jensen's goal.
5 minutes later Bury
's goal was threaten again with a Stewart Drummond's header from the centre of the box but Jensen was quick to tip the ball out to safety.
A long clearance from Jensen was brought down well by Chris Sedgwick. Sedgwick played a great through ball to Anton Forrester. Forrester ploughed his way past two Morecambe
back men and drove a shot towards the bottom corner of the Morecambe
net but Roche evaded the effort.
On the 61st minute Nathan Cameron's foul on Jack Sampson led to a Morecambe
free-kick 40 yards out. Ryan Williams stepped up to take the kick. Williams fired a fantastic curling effort straight into the top left hand corner of Jensen's net. A diving Jensen could do nothing but watch the perfectly taken free-kick fly straight into his goal.
Jackson's first spell on the ball was an effort on goal. Jackson unleashed a low shot towards the bottom left hand corner of the goal in attempt to tuck the ball past Roche but Roche dealt with the effort comfortably.
A fantastic challenge from Shaun Beeley on Kevin Ellison just in front of the Bury
goal prevented the visitors from taking a 2-0 lead on the 78th minute.
were searching for an equaliser in the dying minutes of the game which left them open at the back. Ex Shaker Andy Parrish played a good wide ball to substitute Tony Diagne who found himself one on one with his man. The Shakers could only watch on as Diagne low strike rolled into the back of the net calling time on Bury
had been the stronger of the two sides in the first-half playing some good football within the 2nd and final 3rd, but it was the lack of support upfront for lone striker Anton Forrester that proved to be Bury
's downfall. Bury
failed to pick up where they had left off in the second-half. The real blow for Bury
came when Craig Jones
failed to return to the pitch after half-time with a groin strain; Jones had been unplayable in the first-half causing problems with his skill and pace on the wing.
had allowed their heads to drop after the first goal and with no player stepping up to the plate to take the game by the scruff of the neck Bury
were left disheartened.
