Under 16’s player takes all the glory as young Shakers remain unbeaten
On a warm Monday afternoon, Alan Moore saw his thus far unbeaten youth team a goal down inside five minutes of the game starting. A cross from wide was met by a scrambled effort in the Bury box that just managed to roll over the Shakers goal line.
North End doubled their lead on 24 minutes with a well struck free kick that took a big deflection from a Bury head to find the corner of the net.
It took Bury just four minutes to get back into the game with a fantastic individual run from Tom Pratt, his low drive into the box found the feet of Matt Prickett who had the easiest of tasks to find the back of the Preston net
The Shakers made it all square before the break clever play by Pratt again found Jake Cliffe who smashed home his third of the season from close range.
The second half started with Bury showing plenty desire in search of a winning goal, but it was the Shakers defence who were the busiest as they soaked up plenty of pressure from the visitors.
Eventually a winning goal did come for young Bury, a short corner to Joe Thornton saw his whip in an inch perfect cross onto the head of Under 16 Substitute Michael Itela to head home and seal the points.
The win and three points continued the Shakers excellent start to the season, and only Carlisle remain above them in the league on goal difference
