Director of Football Keith Alexander gives his reaction to the news that two of his former players have signed for the club, and he also reveals that there may be a third on the way very shortly:  "I'm trying to create an atmosphere of winners.  It wasn't my intention to go back to Lincoln City and bring players into Bury, they became available and like all club managers, they always go back to clubs that they have been at to get the players that have done a good job for them in the past."

"Ben Futcher has had an indifferent couple of seasons, first at Grimsby then at Peterborough and Boston.  This is a chance for him to get his career back on track.  Fortunately for us, Paul Morgan wanted to move up back to this area.  His wife is from the area, he started at Preston and with his physio's degree at Salford University, we just happened to be in the right place at the right time and again, I am delighted with that."

"Hopefully on Monday, there will be another of the ex-Lincoln squad joining us, if that's the case then we will have a good nucleus of a side that will obviously compliment the players that are already here.  They bring experience and knowledge of this division.  They bring knowledge of what it's like to be at the top of the table and getting to the play offs."

"The player hopefully coming in is certainly not a goalkeeper.  I'd love Alan Marriot or somebody of that ilk.  We haven't got a keeper at the moment, but we do have one or two coming here for pre-season training and we will take it from there."

"I know a lot about Steve Haslam, he's been unlucky with injuries, and he's been unlucky in that clubs have cut their budgets and he's the one that had to go and he will bring that experience down the right hand side.  It was a position that was identified as a position that needed looking at and he will bring quality to the squad."

Meanwhile, manager Chris Casper was equally as enthusiastic about the new additions and he also spoke of the reasons why new additions are later in coming this summer, by saying:  "I'm really pleased with the addition of Paul Morgan, and again this morning with Ben Futcher coming in.  Hopefully it's going to be an exciting season for us because we have brought some good quality in."

"We said that we needed to do that and with the youthfulness of the squad, to bring good quality and experience in with the likes of Ben and Paul is going to balance things up in our favour and give us a really good chance next year."

"This time last year I had signed all the players and the squad was already decided. As time goes on, other players become available.  Once you have paid your money and agreed deals, you can't go back on them.  We might have been better holding on and waiting, so this year we have taken our time though we still have one or two positions to fill and I am confident that we can do that, but it has to be the right man."
