Hello all and welcome to Hannah's diary, except this week its Zoe's diary instead. Sorry to disappoint all you all, as Hannah's writing skills are far more sophisticated than mine (she has a Degree in English to prove it too) I am the latest addition to your Bury FC Press Gang. Sitting pitch side next to Martin Ogden, I've been working hard to capture those all important football moments on camera. Hence, writing is not exactly my forte.
This week's diary entry is about our away trip to Fleetwood Town a few Saturdays ago. We left a very rainy Bury at lunch armed with raincoats, prepared for the worst weather. The royal 'we' being Martin, Keith, Gordon and myself. Now for those of you who read Hannah's first diary entry, you'll have noted a comment about Gordon Sorfleet's ability to sleep on a washing line. The trip to Fleetwood was no exception to the rule, that being Gordon thinks every journey lasts five minutes; the time between when he falls asleep in Bury and then wakes up at the destination.
Anyone read Four Four Two yet? Well, I did on the way to Fleetwood, as Gordon wasn't too much of a good conversation being asleep. I must give a special mention to our Fan, Marc Higginson who appeared in there giving his low down on the new season. Although, I have yet to see Marc actually sporting a Bury shirt, so maybe we should encourage him to purchase both shirts. The fashion conscious out there will be very pleased to know that Bury's new retro kits are right on trend. Even the England team are at it; their new retro look is inspired by the all-white strip worn in the 1966 World Cup semi-final. Whoever said Bury wasn't the fashion capital?
Back in Fleetwood, there were no raincoats needed on this day, and it seemed the sun was shining on the righteous, as Fleetwood won 2-1. So after those 90 minutes at Fleetwood Town... did anyone start to the notice the seagulls? Martin and I certainly became distracted by the challenge of trying to take a photograph of a seagull instead. Hence, Martin's song of the day became "Wishing (I Had a Photograph of You)" by A Flock of Seagulls.

Losing to Fleetwood Town wasn't exactly a highlight of the day, however for those of you who were lucky enough to be there, I am sure you were impressed by the ground itself. I was most impressed by the toilets. Now, I am not one to speak about such topics as this, but after being so unimpressed by the state of toilets at football grounds in general, you can imagine my delight. They were brand new facilities and they even had a flat screen TV on the wall with Sky Sports live and surround sound of the commentary. Ten out of ten Fleetwood Town!
On the journey home, we managed to keep Gordon awake for the minute it took to drive around the corner from the ground to the beach. I saw some fans had the same great idea of having an ice-cream at Fleetwood beach. Who was clever enough to remember that Blackpool was only another few minutes down the road too? Now, you certainly can't drive through Blackpool and not stop to buy a stick of Blackpool rock, and as I am a big kid and I haven't grown up yet, I went and bought a piece to break my teeth with.
This will probably be the last time I get to write in the diary, so I'll take this opportunity to say hello and goodbye for now. Don't forget this season, my camera and I will be looking for the best pictures of all you fans to go into the programme. So don't forget to smile... you'll be on camera!
