It's all right for Jack

Posted on: Mon 04 Jun 2007

Young Jack Dorney has become the fifth youth team player this season to be handed a first team shirt and he goes straight into the squad for the final game of the season.

Jack joins Dale Stephens, Domaine Rouse, David Worrall and Mike Smith in gaining a squad number with the first team.

Jack will take shirt No 22

Speaking to buryfc.co.uk this afternoon, youth team manager Chris Beech said:  "I call him the magician.  Jack is a player with so much natural ability for a young man of that age; it's something that I have never seen before."

"At first he lacked a little bit of confidence and self belief.  He's now gained that in the last two months, he's started scoring goals and he has developed an end product.  He does things that are uncoachable and he has a great ability to run with the football."

"He's chameleon like, if a chap comes in and makes a tackle, he rides it and comes out of it the other side with the ball at his feet and you wonder how his leg has got round there, but he does it.  If you add his crossing skills and his shooting then he is becoming a very good player."
