Three Offers Confirmed

Posted on: Fri 20 Jul 2007

Trialist's Jim Provett, Ahmed Dean and Ben Leonard have all been offered contracts at Gigg Lane.

Keeper Provett has played the full 90 minutes in the Shakers three pre-season games, whilst Ahmed Dean, who scored the Shakers only goal in the opening pre-season game at Altrincham and Ben Leonard, who played against Radcliffe Borough, are all considering offers made to them, though the Shakers director of Football did admit that Ahmed Dean will have to take a drastic drop in wages if he is to sign the deal offered to him.

Speaking to Shakers World this morning, Keith Alexander said:  "Jim Provett has done very well for us and we've made him an offer, and he is now considering that offer.  Hopefully in the next few days we will get to an end with this saga."

"Ahmed Dean has also been made an offer of a contract.  I would like to add him to the squad, but obviously he is a Londoner coming up North to Bury and that is causing us a problem in terms of trying to get anything near the offer he is looking for.  We've also offered a contract to Ben Leonard from Sheffield."

"He is playing in Sheffield Sunday football leagues and the offer has been made to him.  Hopefully he will accept that and if he does, then people will see him in the side sooner than they think, because he is a very good player."
