Bishop Scan Results

Posted on: Fri 17 Aug 2007

Andy Bishop has been given the green light to continue his race to full fitness.  A persistent knee problem over the pre-season has seen the Shakers leading scorer reduced to a bit part.

His appearance at MK Dons on the opening day of the season surprised many, yet he still managed to grab two goals after coming on for the second half.

The scan on Tuesday has shown that there is no problem with the knee, though Bish did have an injection into the injury on Wednesday, he will receive one more injection before stepping up the pace to full fitness.

Andy WILL be available for selection for Saturdays game with Grimsby Town.  Speaking this morning, manager Chris Casper said:

"I definitely wouldn't mind if Andy stayed 50% fit and still got two goals a game, but you have to give him the opportunity to get fit and try and get him up to speed over the next few weeks. I think it is a mental relief for him knowing that everything is clear and he has worked ever so hard so he deserves to get back in the squad again."
