The Youth teams' opening game of the season couldn't have gone any better as they stormed past Blackpool Youth with a 5-2 win at Goshen on Saturday morning.
Goals and slick football were the order of the day for the youngsters with Bury taking the lead just after ten minutes. A good ball from defence found Domaine Rouse half way inside the Blackpool half of the pitch, and his quick thinking to lob the ball forward and over the Pool's defence released Luke Holmes who took the ball around the last man before calmly drilling a low shot past the Pools keeper.
Some seven minutes later and it was two when Kevin Fields tapped the ball around the visitors defence before taking the ball into the box and slammed the ball across the Blackpool keeper into the far corner of the goal.
Ryan Hall made it three before the break with the best goal of the game, a spectacular volley from 25 yards that left the Pools keeper stranded.Blackpool then rallied and got one goal back just before the break.
In the second half, although the tempo slowed a little, Bury still found the back of the net with another two goals, both coming from Domaine Rouse. The first came from a snapshop from six yards that drifted into the goal, whilst the second came from a long Mike Smith clearance, Domaine Rouse out jumped the keeper after the ball had bounced and calmly headed home for the Shakers fifth goal.
Blackpool did get a further goal before the final whistle, but they could do nothing to stop the young Shakers making a storming start to their season.
