A day before his 39th Birthday, veteran defender Colin Woodthorpe, is on track to make his 200th appearance for the Shakers on Saturday.
Obviously Colin needs to be selected for the game, but as Colin has only missed two games this season, we think he will assume his normal left wing back role.
Colin Woodthorpe joined the Shakers at the start of the 2002/03 season on a free transfer from Stockport County. His first game for the club came at Hull City's former ground Boothferry Park when the Shakers grabbed a 1-1 draw in their final visit to the Tigers old stadium, Pawel Abbott grabbed the goal for the Shakers.
His 200th game should come on Saturday when the Shakers take on Darlington at the Balfour Webnet Darlington Arena. Popular with the players and staff at Gigg Lane, Colin recently signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until the end of this season - and it would surprise nobody if Colin went onto play first class football for longer at Gigg Lane.
There are one or two other interesting stats that we've dragged up whilst verifying these stats:-
Managers: Signed by Andy Preece, Colin has outlasted his former Stockport County team-mate as well as his successor - Graham Barrow.Chris Casper is Colin's third Gigg Lane manager
Goals: Just the two for Colin whilst wearing a Shakers shirt.A 1-0 win at Spotland in the LDV Vans Trophy in 2002 and his second came when Bury went 3-1 down earlier this season at Saltergate.Colin is yet to score at Gigg Lane
Games: 199 to date, this figure includes starting position and appearances as a substitute. The football league classes an appearance as either starting or as a used substitute. Of these 199 games, 99 have been at Gigg Lane, 100 games have been away from Gigg Lane.
11 FA Cup games, 5 League Cup games, 10 Football League Trophy games, 171 League Two games and 2 Playoff Semi Finals.
Now in his sixth season, Colin has collected 43 yellow cards and just three red cards.
Team Mates: The following players have all played alongside Colin during the last 199 games (these players are not listed in any particular order):-
