Alan Knill confirms approach from former DOF

Posted on: Wed 12 Mar 2008

Keith Alexander, now manager at Macclesfield Town, has made an approach to the Shakers regarding Paul Morgan, an approach that has been totally rebuffed by the Shakers manager.

Speaking after the 3-0 win against Rotherham, Knilly said:"Keith Alexander has made an enquiry, he was on the phone as soon as he got the job and I've said no.It's as simple as that. The fact that they are close rivals has nothing to do with it; it's the fact that I haven't really seen Paul play."

"He's been injured during the time I've been here. He's back and has played one reserve game and I don't think it is a good idea for him to go and play for Macclesfield, because I knew that Dave Challinor was struggling.Paul Morgan is not going anywhere and I want to keep this squad together. There is a really good work ethic about the team and the squad and I'd like to keep that together for as long as possible."
