Players leaving Bury FC:-
Jim Provett:
Joined the Shakers initially on trial at the start of the 2007/08 season after being released by Hartlepool United.  Despite still living in the North East, Jim travelled daily to Bury for training.  During his one season at Gigg Lane, Jim has played 40 games for the club.  He lost his place in the starting eleven soon after Alan Knill arrived with Darren Randolph coming in on loan from Charlton Athletic.

Colin Woodthorpe:  The clubs longest serving player, Colin joined Bury before the start of the 2002/03 season after being released by Stockport County.  After 210 appearances and just two goals, Colin was dropped from the first team when Alan Knill arrived, making just one or two sporadic appearances since.  Colin was awarded the inaugural 'Mentor of the year' award as recently as last week.

Dave Challinor:  Signed by Graham Barrow in April 2004, initially on loan from Stockport County, the long throw expert signed fill time at Gigg Lane in June 2004 and was appointed skipper soon after.  Chally has made 189 appearances for Bury scoring four goals.  This season has been a bad season with persistent knee injuries hampering his career.

Ben Leonard:  A surprise signing at the start of the current season, Lenny lived part of the ultimate dream.  Originally a plaster playing in the Sheffield Sunday League's, Ben suddenly found himself living the life of a professional footballer.  A couple of appearances in pre-season and the reserves though and his career at Gigg Lane seemed to be slipping away.  Loaned out to Non league Tamworth over the season, Lenny has spent the last three months injured after surgery on a knee problem.  Ben never played for the first team whilst at Gigg Lane.

Jordan Stepien:  A product of the clubs youth system, Jordan's first season at Gigg Lane saw him mostly away from the club, loaned out to Nuneaton Borough, Jordan played 20 games, scoring 10 goals for the Blue Square North side.  Jordan failed to make the first team whilst with Bury.

Andy Mangan:  Lively scouser Andy Mangan joined the club during pre-season after turning down a new contract at Accrington Stanley.  Mangy made just 26 appearances for the club, scoring five goals. Following surgery on a hernia, new manager Alan Knill allowed him to return to Accrington on loan where he played seven times, scoring one more goal.

Andy Parrish:  A product of the clubs youth system, Andy was Chris Casper's first signing on his appointment to the club.  Pazza went onto make 52 appearances for the club scoring one goal.

Aaron Grundy:  A product of Bury's youth system, Aaron has played just six times for the first team during his three seasons with the Shakers.  Aaron was thrust into first team action last season when he made a TV Appearance in the FA Cup at Weymouth.

The club would like to thank all the above players for their service to the club, and wish them every success in their future careers.

Reaction from Alan Knill will be live later in the week.
