The playing staff at Gigg Lane has less than a week left of their summer holidays before they all head back to Gigg Lane for pre-season training.

Shakers gaffer Alan Knill will finalise his squad in the coming days before the first team squad arrive back at Gigg Lane on 01 July.

Although the gaffer's plans for the first day are not publicly known, the lads know they are in for a tough start.Fitness tests and medical checks are usually the first on the list for pre-season training.

Obviously the manager will need to make a few additions to the squad ahead of pre-season, and those additions are expected to arrive in the coming days.Players offered contracts are also expected in at the club prior to pre-season starting to sign their respective contracts.

Whatever happens over the coming days and weeks, we've got it all covered.

New signings are usually wheeled in front of the Shakers World video camera moments after signing their new deals, whilst all supporters can hear the news first and fast via their mobiles.

From the start of the new season, Shakers World will also be running extended highlights of all games.  Our aim is to have around 20 minutes of each game live on the site by close of play on Monday for Saturday games, and by close of play on Thursdays for Tuesday games - starting with the pre-season games and Huddersfield Town.  For the first time, we are dubbing our exclusive Shakers World Commentary to the video to give you that all round experience.  Games will also be available on DVD throughout the season and further details on those will be available in the coming weeks.
