Dawson commits to Shakers

Former Mansfield Town midfielder Stephen Dawson is the second new addition to Alan Knill's 2008/09 Shakers squad.

Twenty Two year old Stephen Dawson is a former Irish U21 International midfielder that started his footballing career with Leicester City.After coming through the youth system with the Foxes and then captaining their reserve side, first team opportunities' failed to materialise.

He made the decision to drop down the league ladder to progress his career and signed a 2 year contract with Mansfield Town at the start of the 05/06 season, a further 12 months came from the Stags, but relegation from the football league was the end result at the end of the season.His Field Mill career started with the best possible outcome and a debut goal against Stockport County.

With everything at Field Mill seemingly under turmoil following relegation and potential takeovers grabbing the headlines, Stephen was brought to the attention of Shakers gaffer Alan Knill, and his persuasive skills.

Stephen will sign a two year deal on 01 July.
