Speaking to Shakers World on Thursday, the Shakers gaffer said:"He's coming here.There have been other clubs in for him, but he wants to come here and we want him here, and Mick McCarthy is for him coming here because he knows that he is going to play."

"Mick thinks that he will develop here.I've spoken to Elliott and he needs a season where he is going to be playing.There is no point in him going to a so called bigger and better club and being on the bench.He needs to be playing every week, that's how he will develop. "

"The last time I spoke to him, he said he was coming, and it's the same with Mick McCarthy so I kind of take their word for it rather than anyone else's."
