Alan Knill's persuasive powers are becoming almost legendary. His latest touch has seen the return of Elliott Bennett from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a six month long loan.

Elliott Bennett joined Bury last season on loan.  Signed by Chris Brass during his spell as caretaker manager, Elliott stayed at Gigg Lane for a total of three months playing 19 games and quickly became a firm favourite amongst the Gigg Lane faithfull.  His one and only goal came towards the end of his spell with a well struck effort against Macclesfield Town at Gigg Lane.

Alan Knill rates young Elliott very highly, not just because of this skill on the pitch but more so because of his attitude off the park.  Elliott will be a very welcome addition to the squad for the new campaign.

Speaking to the official Wolves website this morning, Elliott said:  "I enjoyed my time at Bury last year when I played a fair few games and I'm looking to do that again.  The gaffer wants me to go out and get some more experience and I'm definitely happy with that.

"Getting games under your belt always helps and I felt I improved last year when I was playing.  There were a couple of other clubs interested but Bury was the one I wanted to go to.

"It's good that I already know the manager and the lads at Bury and my decision to go was based on that and the fact that I know the manager will give me games.  That's the main thing because it's important that I play.  Once it's all completed I'm hoping to travel up today so I can be ready for a bit of a runout in tonight's game if selected."

"Obviously in the long term I'm looking to come back to Wolves and challenge for a place here.  It doesn't matter what league you play in, it's still really good experience and I'm just hoping to come back after my loan finishes and try and impress the gaffer (Mick McCarthy)."

Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy is confident Elliott will continue to improve during his time at Gigg Lane.

"Alan Knill is a good coach and Elliott came back from his loan at Bury last season a better player," said Mick.  "He knows the place and will settle in straightaway and I am sure it will do him a whole lot of good."

Elliott has reclaimed squad number 23 for his time at Gigg Lane

Reaction from Alan Knill and Elliott Bennett will be available on the website at some point after tonight's game with Sheffield United.
