Speculation STOPPED: Bishop Signs
The speculation can stop and the rumours can stop - Andy Bishop has finally put pen to paper on a contract extension that will keep the Shakers leading scorer at Gigg Lane until the end of the 2011/12 Season.
Bish joined he Shakers on 08 May 2006 on a free transfer from York City. After spending the summer months chomping at the bit, the season started pretty much where everyone had hoped - with an Andy Bishop goal in the opening game of the season at the national Hockey Stadium.
Since then, Bish has gone onto make 130 appearances for the club, scoring 57 goals to date. Andy has also been leading scorer for the last two seasons with over 20 goals a season, and thus far has scored eleven goals this season.
A constant source of speculation and rumours amongst the media, Andy has finally put to bed another long running saga by signing the contract extension this this evening.
Reaction from a releived Alan Knill and hopefully a smiling Andy Bishop himself will be live soon after tonights game with Bradford City
