Scotty's season finished

Posted on: Sat 07 Mar 2009

Alan Knill confirmed the news following Saturdays 2-1 win over Rochdale, Paul Scott will miss the rest of the season and will undergo surgery to repair damage to his knee on Tuesday.

Speaking to the press following the win, Alan Knill said:-

"That's it for Scotty, we won't see him now until next season.  He's had a knee problem for quite a while and has been playing with it.  He came to see me after Tuesday game and told me that he couldn't carry on."

"Obviously we wanted him to, but its his knee and he knows how bad it is and he made the decision, so that's it, we won't see him until next season now.  It's a blow for everybody, but I have to say, we've been quite lucky.  You know that sooner or later something will happen, now its what we do to get over it."

"We will miss him in the dressing room, but Steve Haslam's performance against Rochdale covered that, hopefully now he performs like that for the rest of the season."

"Steven Haslam now has his chance to get a run of games, and he's been a top pro.  He comes in every week and trains fantastically.  He's waited for his chance, he was brilliant for us at Shrewsbury and it was unfortunate for him that Scotty came straight back in.  He's taken his chance again against Rochdale."
