Getting to Gigg Lane
Bury Council is thrilled that Bury FC is on the brink of promotion from the second division and the Council wants to encourage people across Bury to get behind their local club by supporting their home team at league fixtures.
Having recently confirmed a further 3 year sponsorship deal for the club the Council is keen to help increase the number of supporters turning out for matches and as such is giving out advice on the quickest and easiest ways to get to the club's home ground.
Because of 'residents only' parking restrictions in side streets close to Gigg Lane, Council advice to supporters travelling by car is to avoid these areas when parking. Fans are also encouraged to think about car sharing rather than driving alone.
For those fans wanting to park and walk advice is to either park in Bury town centre and catch a bus from the interchange or park within ¾ of a mile of the ground at one of the following:
? Trinity Street car park near Bury College (227 space car parking costing £1.40 for up to 2 hours, £1.80 for up to 3 hours and £4.00 for over 3 hours).
? Manchester Road car park off Belle Vue Terrace (108 space car park costing £1.40 for up to 2 hours, £1.80 for up to 3 hours and £4.00 for over 3 hours).
? St Luke's Primary School, Morley Street (150 space car park costing £3).
Charges quoted for parking may alter slightly during April.
With a cycle lane running along Manchester Road, cycling is recommended as an alternative to car travel and a convenient way to get around and keep fit. Many cycle racks are available around Bury Town Centre, just 10 minutes walk from Bury Football Club.
If travelling by taxi there is a taxi drop off area at the stadium's reception.
For registered disabled there are 15 dedicated parking bays are available at the ground.
Councillor Dorothy Gunther said "It's fantastic news that our local club is doing so well this season and because of this we want to make sure that all Bury FC fans have the information they need to get them to Gigg Lane with the minimum of inconvenience."
Supporters should also be aware that ALL TOWN CENTRE parking on Good Friday (Bury v Shrewsbury Town) will be available free of charge
