Surgery for Bishop & Allen

Posted on: Thu 08 Oct 2009

Alan Knill has revealed that striker Andy Bishop will under go further surgery to repair an 'abductor' problem in the coming days.

Speaking to 'Shakers Player' this afternoon, Alan Knill said:  "Bishop went to see a specialist yesterday and he's been told that he will need an operation.  That's bad news for Andy and for us.  It's been 11 weeks so far and now it maybe another six or seven weeks, I'm not happy about it."

"Andy now has abductor problems which is the groin area.  He had the double hernia operation in the summer and whether this has followed on from that is unclear at the moment."

As for the other injured players, there was better news on Paul Scott after the clubs skipper took part in his first training session this morning.  Alan Knill said:  "He took part in a light session this morning but he is weeks away yet.  He may be ok for the bench but he is way off starting a game.  Andy Morrell is the same and is still weeks away from playing."

"Damien Allen is more bad news though because he may also be going to have an operation on his groin problem, it's not good but we will battle on with what ever players we have left."
