Cleared to train

Posted on: Thu 28 Jan 2010

The widest smile at Gigg Lane this afternoon is that of Andy Bishop. The Shakers striker has missed virtually all of the season thus far after surgery to repair his knee, groin and then abductor muscles.Three separate operations in six months.

On Wednesday afternoon Bishop returned to see the specialist in the hope that he would be given the all clear to return to full training. This afternoon the results of that scan have been revealed and Andy will begin full training on Monday.

Speaking to Shakers Player this afternoon, manager Alan Knill said:"Bish is clear to train, but because of what he has been through, we are not going to rush him back.We will ease him into it for the rest of the week and he will then be back in full training from Monday."
