Parker to the Rescue

Posted on: Thu 18 Mar 2010

Livingstone born striker Keigan Parker has joined the Shakers on a months loan from near neighbours Oldham Athletic.  The 27 year old has taken squad number 24 and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's game at Rotherham United.

Keigan started his career at St. Johnstone in 1998 and broke into the Scotland U21 squad before joining Blackpool in June 2004.  Keigan made 165 appearances for the Seasiders, scoring 41 goals during his time at Bloomfield Road.

Following his release from Blackpool at the end of the 07/08 Season, Parker joined Huddersfield Town for one season, making a further 23 appearances and scoring just twice.  The last three months of his Terriers career though brought a loan move to Hartlepool.  He made just nine appearances for Pools without scoring and joined Oldham Athletic on a two year deal at the start of this season.

With only 29 appearances this campaign and two goals, Keigan has joined the Shakers on a months loan.

His current deal with Bury will expire on 17 April.  Reaction from Alan Knill and Keigan himself will be live later today.
