Three points

Posted on: Fri 07 May 2010

"We've had some really bad goals scored against us this season, especially the last two on Saturday against Torquay, they were terrible goals. We could say that we were at the other end chasing the game, but in there was some poor mistakes.Over the season, I can't remember many great goals being scored past us but I can remember some really poor ones."

"On Saturday we have one target, three points and it's the same for Northampton. We've got to go for it so we will be playing with an attacking team and we will try our best. The disappointing thing for me though is that this was in our own hands, now its not and we are in somebody else's hands."

"It's my biggest disappointment this season, the fact that we are going to Northampton looking for three points and a snooker from somebody else. It's one of those things but now the most important thing is for us to go there and get three points."

"My team talk before this game will change. It could be our last game or it could be our fourth from last, we want to make it our fourth from last game, but I think we have to treat it like it's our last game.We will do everything that we can and treat it like it's the last game that we are playing, not just now - but ever."

"We just have to go for it and give a good account of ourselves. There is no point in looking at other results during the game, we cannot affect those games so there is no point. We just have to try and affect the one game that we are involved in and leave the rest to everybody else."

"This game is the season in one game, when you look at as the season comes to an end the chances are that it was coming down to the last game of the season. It does make it exciting, you don't want it to but this is where we are.We have no choice so let's just go for it and do as best as we can.The biggest thing is that when we come off the pitch, we hold our hands up and say that we had a really good go at it.There are some games in this last two or three months where we could not say that."

"It's still possible for us; we might as well go for it.We could be 13th with no chance, but we are not.We are 8th with a great chance, so let's just try our best. It's a tough game and Northampton are a good side, but we are a good side.On paper it looks like it will be a really open game, they have to win and we have to win.I just hope that its not a 6-6 like the Scottish game the other night, 6-5 will do me."

"The players have been good, and maybe we've run out of steam in our energy positions.I can understand it but it is frustrating for me, the supporters and for the players, because when the team doesn't play well, the players feel it more than anybody."

"Frustration and disappointment is how I am feeling at the end of the season, but it's not over yet so I don't know.Through the season though, we've played some pretty good stuff and we've seen some pretty good games here, the Rochdale game on Sky, the Shrewsbury game, the Notts County game at home was a great game and we've played some good away stuff such as Bournemouth. At times it feels like we are bottom of the league, but we are eight and the disappointing part of it is that we all know that we could have been better."

"I've made decisions on contracts, but the last three months haven't changed my mind.Over the last two and a half years, I know that we need a change. We all need something fresh to do and like at every club there will be no different here. The difficult part of it though is that we don't know which league we will be in at the moment."

"We know that we have a large following going to Northampton on Saturday, and it's important that the supporters get the players going, not the other way round. The fans have been superb away from home all season, now we need them to be superb again on Saturday.Even at Notts County and Cheltenham when we had five put past us, they still supported."
