Loanee's returned

Posted on: Tue 11 May 2010

Striker Tom Elliott, midfielder Sam Hewson and midfielder James Poole have returned to their parent clubs, Leeds United, Manchester United and Manchester City

Tom Elliott joined the Shakers in September 2009 and made his debut for the club against Port Vale at Vale Park.  A torn hamstring the following month in the early stages of the home game with Rotherham though saw his first spell come to an early end and he returned to Elland Road for treatment.

Once back to full fitness, Tom re-joined Bury in February.  In total Tom Elliott made 17 appearances for the club, scoring one goal (away at Crewe Alexandra).

Sam Hewson joined from Manchester United on 06 February and made seven appearances.  His first game came at Bradford City though in a 1-0 Bury win.  Seven of Sam's appearances have come from the bench.  Recent events surrounding Sam though have been off the pitch after he picked up an illness that saw him returned to Old Trafford for treatment, though he did spend the final part of the season back at Bury, though a lack of fitness saw him miss out on the final game of the season.

James Poole joined on 26 March on loan from Manchester City.  In total he made nine appearances for the club, and like Sam Hewson, failed to find the back of the net.  His final appearance came at Sixfields on Saturday, but was short lived as a straight red card ended his season after 66 minutes of the game.

All three players have now returned to their parent clubs with our best wishes and thanks.
