Scotty at the seaside

Posted on: Tue 15 Jun 2010

Former club captain and twice player of the season Paul Scott has joined league Two rivals Morecambe on a two year deal.

Scotty was released by the club at the end of the 09/10 season, bringing a final curtain down on his six year Gigg Lane career.

Speaking to http://www.morecambefc.com soon after signing, Scotty said: "I've had six very good years at Bury but it was probably time for a change. I had a number of clubs contact me but I always remember being coached by Mark Lillis when I was a youth team player at Huddersfield and I have always had a lot of time for him.''

He added: "I went to have a look at the new ground last week and I was excited about the prospect of playing there this season. There was a great vibe around the place and I can't wait to get going now.''

Naturally everyone at Gigg Lane wishes Paul the very best for the next stage of his career, apart from the two games with Bury of course.
