Max gets a number

Posted on: Fri 06 Aug 2010

Second Year scholar Max Harrop left the club this afternoon, again with the broadest of smiles across his face after Alan Knill dragged him into his office - and thrust the No 29 first team shirt at him.

Max has seen plenty of action with the first team already over the pre-season and what appears to be the next product of the Shakers Youth production line looks set to become involved with Alan Knill's new look squad.

Max turned 17 at the end of June and looks to have a bright future ahead of him.  Speaking to Shakers Player on Thursday, Alan Knill said:  "Max is only just 17, he trains with us every day and doesn't look out of place.  He may be on the bench or around it on Saturday and I have absolutely no worries about putting Max on the pitch.  He's a really good player and if he keeps his feet on the ground he could have a really good career."
