Baggies striker joins

Posted on: Mon 20 Feb 2012

Richie Barker has strengthed the striking department by bringing in Lateef Elford-Alliyu on a youth loan until the end of the current season.

Lateef signed a new one-year deal, plus a further year's option in the West Brom's favour in summer 2011.

Last term the young forward made 14 starts and three sub appearances on loan at League One outfit Tranmere, scoring five times, before injury brought a premature end to his campaign.

'Pan', as is he is known to his team-mates, was in fine form during the 2009/10 season, firing 11 FA Premier Academy League goals in his third year with the club.

He also spent a short time on loan at Hereford where he made his league bow.

In May he joined Icelandic top-flight outfit Keflavik until mid-June.

He figured twice for England in May 2009's Under-17s European Championships in Germany.

Lateef goes straight into the squad for Tuesday's game at MK Dons and will take squad number 28
