We've Defended Well

Paul Scott

Stand in skipper Paul Scott believes the side are defending from the front, full reaction to the sixth straight win from Scotty following the Wrexham game on Tuesday night.

"It was nice to get the win and keep the run going and to get some more points and to get as far up the table as possible.  We haven't really talked about a push for the play offs, basically the run has just come and we are winning games.  It's just a case of keeping it going now and we are not thinking about where we are going with it."

"We've just got to go out there and win games.  We managed to get in front against Wrexham, they are a good side and they came back at us in the second half.  We had to defend well, which we did do and we've done for the last few games and we've held out."

"Once you get the first goal, you need the second, if we had got the second goal, we would have been able to play the game out and maybe get some more, but obviously at 1-0 it's a bit touch and go.We had to keep it quiet tight in the second half to see it out."

"Defensively we've been outstanding and it comes from the front with Bish & Hursty.  We've come under a lot of pressure for the last few games, and we've defended well from Kasper to everyone."

"I said to Kasper after the game that he hasn't had a save to make apart from one in the first half, but his kicking and catching is top class.  As long as he doesn't get too much work, then we are happy."

"After the Wycombe game we were very low and on the run we are on at the moment, everyone at the club and that includes the lads that are not playing, they are still contributing.  It's everyone, a squad game and everyone at the club is enjoying it."

"We wanted to play this game the first time round because we were in good form then at the beginning of the run at Lincoln, we didn't play then but it was important that we won the game tonight to keep the run going."

"I'm not too bothered where I play, I prefer to play at centre half, but if the team needs me at right back, I will play there."

"I was surprised on Saturday when the gaffer gave me the captains' armband.  I just try and do my job like I always do and didn't think too much about it, but it's a good honour for me. The manager didn't really say anything to me, he just said Scotty and gave me the armband and said your captain and I've enjoyed it."

"You can say Weymouth is a tricky game, but it's how you approach it.The way we are going at the moment and with the confidence we have, we have to go there and play our own game and take the game to them and win the game."

"We won't be complacent; we will go there to win the game.  The TV are there because they expect a shock, I was at Huddersfield when we lost to Accrington.  I played in that game and I know what it feels like.  The BBC will want us to lose, so its up to us to disappoint them."
