Not good enough
"It wasn't good enough; we haven't defended two set pieces. You can be as prepared and as organised as you can be but if you don't win it and anticipate things, then you haven't got a chance. Our quality in the last third wasn't good enough nor was our ball retention."
"We got into good positions but we conceded possession far too easily. What more can I say, the fans have voiced their opinions and they have got every right to do so, but at the end of the day we've only got ourselves to blame."
"It's difficult to analyse a game straight away, you have to sit down and be composed about it, there was no shouting match with the players after the game, its plain facts, we have to get things out of the lads and get their reaction, you have to point the finger and like I said, we didn't retain the ball enough in vital areas, plus we've been let down two sloppy pieces of defending from set pieces. The lads have got to own up to that and admit their responsibility."
"I got the feedback I wanted, there are no excuses, and the silence spoke for itself. Our quality wasn't good enough and we didn't win enough battles. There's not much to say really. I'm so disappointed because I have good quality in the dressing room and we are underachieving."
"It's a very quiet and sombre dressing room and my style is that I like to assess things in the cold light of day before you start picking the bones out of it. Obviously you have your initial opinions and reactions, but the big thing for me is that we didn't retain the ball well enough and the glaring fact is that we've conceded two goals from sloppy defending."
"It's not completely silent in there. They know that they are under achieving - those are the words of the players, but at the end of the day, they can't come out with any excuses apart from they have to sort it out themselves as far as the jobs they are given to do."
"They are a really good bunch of lads, we have a great team spirit, but at the end of the day, we have to get that steely determination and that look in their eye back, that we had at the end of the last two seasons when we needed to grind things out and we needed to dig deep, we have to do the same again."
"I will stay positive, I always do, I will look at the video, but I know what is wrong. We need more quality in the final third, we need to create more chances and we need to stop giving silly goals away - it's as plain and as simple as that, and as I have said to the lads, its everyone's responsibility.I'll put the team out and I will take the responsibility for that, but when you are picked to do a job - you do that job."
