Real Challenge for us
"I will not quit, and I won't walk away from anything. People who know me know I won't walk away and I like the challenge. Every day is a challenge for me because that's the kind of person I am. I want to learn every day, and I stay positive every day. Walking away is just not my style. I think Marc and the paper have been reporting fairly and honestly. I have no problem with that, and its part of the pressure that comes with the job and you just have to accept it".
"We had a good meeting on Monday with the directors, and I spoke to the players on Tuesday, and we outlined one or two of the things we are going to change. We are remaining positive and we are looking to get a good result on Saturday".
"Some managers do like the pressure. I would prefer it if it was the pressure from doing so well, like having to win a game to get in the playoffs would be much more enjoyable, and we have proved over the last few years that it isn't enjoyable. The fans are obviously not happy, and it is about time we changed it around, and I'm looking forward to trying that and I'll give it everything I've got".
"We have got a good squad, and I think mentally over the last couple of years we have been scarred by our financial situation was bleak, but that has been sorted out. The players have been scarred by our performances, and it is my responsibility to change that losing mentality. I've been doing a lot of work with the players on mentality. I think it is a vital side of the game, and player for player we have as good a squad as any team in the division. We are underachieving as far as results are concerned, and it's my job to change that around and get that winning mentality".
"I don't think the players have their heads down at the moment. Obviously, they were in a sombre mood after the match on Saturday, but on Monday we had the choice of watching the tape of the game and picking the bones out of it, or we can remain positive and that's what we have decided to do".
"I think to be fair Dagenham have been challenging for promotion from the conference for a while now, and it's a real challenge for us on Saturday. I've said to the players that our season has to kick start now, and we have to play our best for the next 40 games because for some they are going to be very important for the player's careers. We are prepared for the game, and we just have to make sure we make a good account for ourselves".
