The come back kings
"It was important that we kept the run going and obviously coming in at half time away from home 2-0 down wasn't great, but we didn't panic. We altered it just before they got their second goal around ten minutes before half time, that goal was a bad goal to concede and we were up against it."
"There is a heck of a slope here at Macclesfield and with the wind going against you and it was difficult to get at them in the second half but we put them under pressure and Mangy scored a great goal. The penalty for me was nailed on. We could have won it, there keeper was named man of the match and that speaks for itself."
"You could say that today's result was the best in this run because we were two goals down. The lads knew at half time that we had conceded two bad goals and we said that the next goal would be the most important. If they had got a third one, it would have been game over, if we scored it then it would be game on and I knew after five minutes."
"Because we scored so early, I thought that there was only one team going to win it and without being disrespectful to Macclesfield, the conditions here are hard to play against, but once we got the second goal, we pushed on and Tommy Lee made a great save from Bish's header and an even better save from the free kick."
"At 2-0 down, you take a point but with twenty minutes to go at 2-2, you are looking to win the game, but it wasn't to be and fair play to Macclesfield."
"Scotty and Bully being missing gave two big chances and I thought Richie Baker did ever so well. He got the bit between his teeth, he is doing a lot of extra work and he put in a really good shift today."
"Confidence is good and no matter how many goals you go behind, you don't expect to lose. Their second goal really knocked the stuffing out of us but we didn't panic and I said to the lads to keep going, don't get your heads down. I altered the formation a little because their full backs were getting forward too easily and it changed things a little."
"The programme called us the 'come back kings' of this division. Maybe we should spread that around more; teams will always know that we are going to come back. It's a testament to the lads because they compete in everything they do whether its on the training ground, a game of two touch after training or whatever, they are a very competitive bunch and that competitiveness has got them back in the game today."
"We will treat Workington with the same kind of respect that we treat anybody. We know that it will be a tough game and they are in the first round on merit. We will make sure that we are thoroughly prepared for the game. It's a home game and that's all you can ask for, and we will treat them with the respect they deserve."
