"Nothing about the Norwich game suggests that we are a struggling league two side, the performance was very good, the team shape was excellent, the game plan was going extremely well and I suppose before the game you would have taken a one draw.  There were loads of positives to take out of the game and the young lads especially took an awful lot out of it."

"You get a little greedy, going 1-0 up with 20 minutes to go and you think that taking them back to Gigg Lane would be a bit disappointing, but obviously in the last ten minutes they put big Dion Dublin up front and he became a problem for us.  They threw the kitchen sink at us and Jim Provett produced another world class save in the last minute.  What could have been a great result could easily have turned into a catastrophic result, but looking at the bigger picture, we have to be happy with the final result.  Southampton is a game away, it's another lucrative game for us, but we have to beat Norwich first."

"The fans at Norwich were excellent, out of a crowd of 20,000, it was the Bury fans that could be heard and you have to say that they have nine games that they have to pay for in January.  I can understand that fans get disappointed with results and frustrated.  They have every right to voice their opinion, but they are absolutely fantastic, they were outnumbered by 20 to 1, but you would have thought it was the other way round."

"Week in week out, especially when they are all together singing and dancing, it does make a massive difference.  I'm not patronizing anybody with this; I know they have to blame somebody.  I'm the manager and I will take the responsibility and the criticism.  The bigger picture is that we have had a lot of games, it would be nice to freshen the squad up here and there, but we have to stay positive and all stick together.  I appreciate what the supporters have got to go through financially and they do get disappointed with the results."

"Saturday's game at Darlington is more important than Norwich.Cup competitions are always a bit of a bonus and so far they have been great bonuses for us, but you are always judged on your league position.  We need to consolidate now, two or three decent results will consolidate that position.  We can't get carried away, we can't panic about it.  We have to go out and play with a freedom and try and play the right way.  There have been too many inconsistencies over the last couple of years; we've had a lot of peeks and a lot of troughs.  The impression you get from some people is that they'd like midtable security and a level playing field, or get a couple of months where there is no threat of relegation and then you can start building towards the play offs like we did earlier on in the season, but sustain that."

"This is an exciting club and its different to any other club that you know.  There are always different situation to deal with.  Its seems to be that one bit of bad luck turns against you, and then another one comes along, then another one, then another one.  Last year that happened at Darlington with the penalty decision against us, and we had two or three of those within the space of three or four weeks."

"You look at games at Darlington, at no other club would you see an own goal like Chris Brass's.  We won the game when Tippy scored in the sixth minute of injury time and the fourth official had held up three minutes.  It went our way that time and you have to take the rough with the smooth and I think it's about time we started to have our own rub of the green."
