Enjoy the occasion
"That was a very very good performance and its just nice to put a smile back on everyone's faces. It was perfect timing and it's been a tough few days and for me personally, I have a lot of respect for Chris Casper. He's put in a lot of hard work and he's built some good solid foundations for the club and sadly he won't be around to see the fruition of that, but he's big enough and honest enough to know that results dictate whether you stay in this job or not. Its something that I am aware of and I've suffered in the past because of that."
"Chris was the first person to ring me after the game, but in the end he had to text me because he couldn't get me and he's a proud man. I've got the upmost respect for him and the level of dignity that he left the place with means that he will not be out of football for long."
"I told the lads to not play with fear, because they are a good group of players. I changed one or two things. Bish was up there on his own and he had enough energy and legs around him with Nicky Adams, Dave Buchanan, Richie Baker and Dale Stephens all breaking forward and it worked for us."
"The way that the lads have applied themselves was good. Unfortunately I haven't been at all the games recently, but goals change games. Norwich certainly are a very good side, we have to give them the respect, tonight we had some luck but you could see that once we got the goal the confidence levels lifted."
"We have to enjoy the occasion now, its one result, a fantastic result, but now we have to get a level of stability in the league. We are not looking for greatness, we are looking for progression. If we can continue to do that with a good group of young players, then who knows where it can take you."
"I have a lot of confidence in the youngsters at the club, it's a fine blend and they will get some good experience here. Ricky Anane came on and just injected a bit of pace into the game. Its put people on the back foot and eased the pressure a little bit."
"It was the old cup duo of Futch and Bish again, they seem to enjoy it. We know what Andy Bishop is about and he is well capable of putting in performances like that as I am well aware, he is a massive asset for Bury Football Club."
"This is a fantastic football club and one with a massive tradition and I am sure that the first thing Chris Casper will do this morning is smile. He has a lot of affection for this club with his father being involved at the club years ago."
"I have to sit down in the cold light of day. It was a tough decision to take in respect of my loyalty to Chris. Hyde United have been more than patient with me, I've explained the situation to them plus someone from the club has touched base with them and I have the utmost respect for them. I've got decision to make along the way but at this moment in time its getting the stability back and we will see where it takes us. If there are decisions to make, I am big enough and ugly enough to make them. There is no timescale, it's a big decision. It's a big decision from the board to decide that Chris & Keith were going to go, not they have to sit down and think what they want to take it forward."
"Do I want the job? If its there, it's an opportunity, there's obviously going to be issues that want resolving. Opportunity doesn't knock twice in life. I will just enjoy it and see where it takes us."
