"It's been a mad week and I suppose they do say that a week is a long time in football.  Its certainly been that and something of a roller coaster with the emotions, but things have calmed down now.  Tuesday night has gone now and it's out of the way.  It's a special memory, but a distant memory because we have a big game coming up on Saturday."

"Monday was sad, it's a results based industry and when it did happen it came as a shock.  I think everybody knew that it would happen at some point, but when it did come before the Norwich game, it did come as a shock.  Sadly once Tuesday came, it was another day.  I was asked to a job, I think we did that job and at the end of the day, the players are paid by Bury Football Club and they know what standards I expect from that, whether they are centre of excellence players, youth team players or first team players.  That's what I am as a person so they knew what I needed on Tuesday."

"On Tuesday night, I expected the performance, I just didn't know if we would get the result.  I've been working with the players for a number of weeks now, all be it on a temporary basis, and I've been fortunate to be with them all the way through, though not on a Saturday and that's when it matters.  We had to give Norwich respect, they are the form team in the Championship."

"I know Glenn Roeder from my time at Burnley and he's streets ahead of me in terms of experience and tactical nouse, but you pinch little bit's of people like that and thankfully in the game of chess on Tuesday night, I just got my nose in front."

"Tuesday night is what I feel this football club needs.  Fans and players won the game together, everyone stuck together.  I'm not going to kid myself, it was one game.  I will demand the same commitment, but at the end of the exercise - it was a cup game.  The atmosphere was electric and it generated the game.  After watching the video, there was one instance where there was a handball.  I couldn't tell from where I was, but looking on video, it was handball - that raised everybody and it also gave the lads the confidence and the opportunity to get forward."

"If you looked at it, it was a 4-4-1-1 formation, however, that wasn't how we set out to play the game but thankfully because of the energy of the lads it ended up with four or five players in the box at times.  It's a long time since we've seen that."

"Saturday will be a bigger crowd, it's a local derby game and again, this is when you have to stick together and show a level of passion and commitment.  They need to keep cool heads.  We can't get carried away with Tuesday night's performance.  It was a one off, now we have to make sure that we have the same level of performance on a consistent basis.  I'm not after greatness from them, they have under achieved.  I'm looking for them to go out there, give themselves credit and express themselves. "

"At the end of the day we all make mistakes, I made the biggest mistake in football, it was an accident and its gone in front of millions now, but I'm still sat here, it hasn't affected me.  You live, you learn and you move on.  The better people don't let it affect them.  That's what I've been saying to the lads, just keep on trying, get the ball on the floor.  If you do that and you fail, its not through the lack of trying."

"Saturday's game is bigger than Tuesday.  The financial implications were massive on Tuesday, but we earn our corn in the league.  Its not now, but you are judged at the end of the season.  This club needs to finish higher than it did last season. There is a lot of potential in there.  In order to realise that potential, you need stability and a good foothold in the league, then everyone can drive on from there."
