Frustrating as hell
"I don't look for hard luck stories. We had an abundance of chances to take something out of the game and with a little bit more quality we would have done. The lads showed some great build up play, but it's a fine divide. It's a very fine line between success and failure at the moment, but we came, put in a great performance again and sadly we are going away from Grimsby with nothing."
"Grimsby had one chance and it was a great goal. The lad got it out from under his feet, pulled the trigger and finished it. There's your difference. It was a fantastic goal but the simple answer is we didn't finish our chances."
"Simon Yeo had a couple of good opportunities when he came on; he's frustrated that he hasn't taken one of them. If one of those goes in, its fine and we get something out of the game. It's easy to say after the game that we deserved something out of it. That's football and sometimes you don't quite get what you deserve."
"I'm pleased that we put in another good performance, but there are a few little bits and bobs that we need sorting to putting into good performances into victories."
"We need victories and that's the only way to put it. It's all a case of sticking together and riding it and not feeling sorry for yourselves, because that's football and it does have a habit of kicking you where it hurts. During times of adversity, it's how you step forward."
"It frustrates the hell out of you, but the difference is taking those chances. Phil Barnes the Grimsby keeper has done well, and by all accounts he did well during the game back at Gigg Lane. Chris Hutchings said at half time that we had ten attempts at goal and we were losing 1-0. In any game of football you're normally coming in in front with statistics like that."
"Teams around us are getting personnel in and we need the extra bodies. If we are in a position to get somebody, then hopefully we can sit down, sort it out and crack on with whatever is best to take us forward. We need results and people have lost their jobs because this a results based industry. Sometimes you don't get what you deserve in life."
"Performance wise, we have given four very good performances, but sadly we've only picked up two decent results out of those four games. On Tuesday we should have taken something out of the game, but we haven't - it's as simple as that. You look on ceefax, it says Grimsby Town 1 Bury 0 and that's a hard pill to swallow."
"Decisions on players leaving us are the kind of decisions that the club has to make. If you lose your best players, you run that risk. Again this is where you have to be strong and stick together as a team. Now might not be the right time to lose your best players. You have to do what is right for the long term future of Bury Football Club, if that's getting rid of players, I don't agree."
