It's not always about the performance
"That was a great performance, but sometimes you can't be as entertaining as you want to be, but it's all about winning. I don't know how many times I've said it, but the players have been fantastic. They've seen this now, that we go two goals in front without really playing well and it's all about keeping it at two goals in front."
"They have done really well and they have taken everything on, we've played a different shape. Today Mansfield played three different shapes in the first half so we changed our shape in the second half and the players just take it on and do it, but I have to say, that it was probably the most boring second half of all time."
"Full credit to the players though because it's been a real punishing schedule and it just seems that every week we've had a game on Saturday and Tuesday. It's fairly obvious for everyone to see that the lads are tired, but today was all about the result, not the performance but 2-0 is a great result for us."
"We played the game out, we did the same against Morecambe but that finished 2-1. All of a sudden we are doing the right things and the things that you've asked them to do, things such as not taking too many touches in your own half and not inviting the tackle, get it in there and let them defend it and close in after it. Three clean sheets out of the last four says everything."
"The back four were tremendous today, but they are a decent unit with a really good goalkeeper behind them, but today the four and the six in front put in a shift to stop them. We are on 46 points now, that's four wins and a draw, thirteen points this month, eight points last month - it's fantastic isn't it and the players really do take all the credit. They listen, they take it on and you can tell that all of a sudden, they don't accept losing."
"We try to drive it home that losing isn't acceptable and we need to do as much as we can to stop that. All of a sudden they have taken it on and this is what you get - four wins and a draw in a month, that's fantastic."
"I really don't concern myself with what went on before I came in. All I am concerned with is from when I walked in the door and what we can all do together as a group and how we can be successful. What happened in the past is in the past. I wouldn't be sat talking now if it didn't happen, but that's none of my concern."
"I'm delighted for Adam Rooney, I heard some bloke in the stand and he was having Roon's every time he got the ball. Adam is 19, coming on 20 and sometimes his games isn't as good as it should be, but the boy can score goals. He wasn't particularly good in the first half, he just needs one touch and it's in the back of the net."
"Elliott Bennett just gives you energy and drive. Sometimes he does a bit too much but he's got a really good attitude about him and in the last five or six games he hasn't done as well as he thinks he can. This is probably the first time that he has played a lot of games together like this, plus they are games that actually mean something rather than the reserves at Wolves, here it's about three points and not losing and I thought he was excellent today."
