Scotty is 100% every day
"It was a good night and its always better doing something like that when you have won five games at home. Everybody seemed to be in a good mood and from what I have been told; the winners seem to be the right choice."
"The supporters see what Scotty does. He's all around the pitch, he's 100%, he's never say die and I think that that's obviously what won it for him over Bishop's goals. I asked him to play in midfield and there was no second thought from him. At the time I don't think he thought it was his best position and now listening to him, he does."
"He's really adaptable and when you put him on the pitch you know exactly what you are getting. Sometimes his quality won't be that good, but if he gives it away, he's the first one to get it back and usually he is better with it. Its every day, he's no different. He's 100% and he is really good to have. Also, it rubs off. That enthusiasm he has and the energy rubs off on others. He's been really good to work with."
"Bish has his qualities as well. He puts it in the back of the net, that's the best quality. He's a team player even though he is a goal scorer. When the ball comes they just put it in the box, Bish doesn't. Sometimes he sacrifices a goal scoring opportunity for himself with his unselfish running. He's done brilliantly and in a struggling team, to score so many."
"To score 20 plus goals a season for three years is some achievement. You watch him in training and he can score with either foot. There aren't many headers but he uses either foot and finds the back of the net."
"We don't have to sell Andy Bishop, but if the right offer comes in, then I don't think you can stand in the player's way. That's the big thing. If it does then I think it's important the we think that he's done his bit and when the time is right for him and everybody, he moves on, but it is important that he goes onto the right club. The worst scenario is that he goes onto a bigger club and doesn't play, then that's a waste of time, he might as well stay here. As of yet, we haven't had any enquiries and hopefully we don't. Hopefully he starts the season for us next year."
"It's important for us now to get these last two games out of the way. The lads are going away for three days straight after the Accrington game. Once they come back, we will sort out contracts etc then. I have spoken to some of the players and told them that there will be offers coming their way. Its only Nicky Adams and David Buchanan at the moment. It's not that I haven't decided, but I'm going to leave it until the end of the season."
"I'm not into getting trialist's into the club. I just think that when you get the lads back for pre-season training, you can have one or two but you can't have ten because for me it just looks as though you're not quite sure. Quite a lot of the time, they are not better than what you have already got. I think it is important that you do your homework. If you are going to bring somebody in, you had better be close to getting into the first team or at least be around it."
"Saturdays will be a good atmosphere; it's big for Rochdale because they obviously want to get up automatically. It's not that we want to stop them, we want to make it six home wins on the trot. We've done really well. Attitudes and mentality have changed. Everyone keeps saying that we are safe and that there is nothing to play for. Saturday showed that there is plenty to play for and I think that that will continue to the end of the season. It doesn't matter who it is, Rochdale or Macclesfield, it does not matter, it's about winning and hopefully that will continue."
