"That was a proper derby game, and that's how it should be.  The first thing for me - it shows how far we've come - we were the best team, even before they had a man sent off, we were the best team with the chances we had."

"Obviously I'm disappointed not to take the three points, but I think it shows where we are, we are a team that can compete.  If they are the best team in the league, which is what they keep shouting about and telling us - then what are we."

"Tommy Lee kept them in the game in the first half, Bish had a great chance then he made two great saves.  Jim Provett made a good save, but I thought it was us that were the threatening team.  It was one of those, a proper derby game and hopefully that's how it is going to be.  That's how we want it, we want big crowds and we want an atmosphere like that because it brings out the best in everybody."

"Credit must go to Rochdale as well.  They are a good team, but I just felt that we were ready for it today and we proved to everybody today that we can compete with the so called best in the league."

"As for their penalty, the referee makes the decision and you have to accept it.  Firstly for the seconding off with Futcher. Everyone is telling us that all of a sudden he has a cut over his eye. Futch says he was struck in the box, and he's not reacted to it.  He's pushed the lad away and the referee has deemed it as raising his hands.  It happens."

"The penalty.  For me it looked like the softest penalty ever, but he gave it and unfortunately you have to accept it and move on.  We could have won it at the end.  I'm disappointed not to take the three points, but full credit to the players and how far we have come as a team."

"I thought we managed the occasion better than Rochdale.  There's a lot of screaming and shouting in the tunnel about how people are going to do this and do that.  It's not about that, it's about what you do with the ball and if you can focus on that, the other stuff goes out of the window.  I thought we did that very well in the first half."

"I will never criticise an official.  What's the point!!!!  We all know how tough it is for them and every decision they make is scrutinised by everybody, and it's usually the wrong one.  The referee made the decision, and you live with it.  If it cost us the game, it might be different, but it didn't.  They have a really tough job, and I have to say that the standard of refereeing has got better.  I will try not to criticise the referee, sometimes it's difficult, but I won't do it."

"Jim Provett doesn't know what day it is, as Sodje was running back, the lad has pushed Efe and he's hit Jim and he's pretty groggy in the dressing room.  The referee made the right decision there, he got that one right, and he may get it wrong another time.  For their sending off, I don't think the referee had much choice, he saved Elliott from the embarrassment of missing."

"It was a fantastic run from Elliott, that's what the kid has got. I've spoken to Elliott, and I spoke to Mick McCarthy yesterday.  Elliott like's it here.  Fortunately I'm pretty friendly with Mick, and if Mick thinks that this is the best place for Elliott to develop, then hopefully we will have a chance of taking him next season.  The good thing for me, we haven't hindered him, we've helped him.  I wanted to bring him off near the end so that he could get an ovation from the crowd, but I just couldn't.  He's been excellent, as have all the loan players.  I've been delighted with him and he mixes pretty well with the squad.  The lads like him and he's been good.  I'd be delighted if he came back next season."

"I can't see how anyone didn't enjoy that game, it was a proper football match with great tackles, headers, one great goal, penalty area incidents and that's what you want when a side goes down to ten men.  We go for it, and they go for it.  I hope everyone enjoyed it, I did, and it was even lively on the touchline.   Two and half months ago, that would have been a Rochdale win."
