"There is nothing you can do about Tuesday night now, it's happened. All we can do is try to put things right for the next game, so that's the idea. We've spoken about it, we've watched the game again and it's not really a training ground thing. It's a mental thing. All we can do is highlight it and make the players aware; hopefully they will take it on."
"I said on Tuesday that winning games papers over the cracks. The cracks are not that big. At Dagenham, we won 3-1 and everyone was delighted, but the goalkeeper was worked too much in the game. I said after the game that we could have been 2-0 down and there it was on Tuesday night."
"We've watched the goals again from Tuesday and its nothing that we haven't worked on the training pitch. One ball beats the three at the back plus there were some other things within it that we could have done better. It's purely concentration and decision making, and usually that's what goals come from. They have to make the right decisions that they have been told to make."
"There was evidence of this problem at Dagenham because they had four chances before we scored and earlier in the season such as Exeter because they scored inside seven minutes. Obviously you are disappointed with a goal against in seven minutes. We could have easily been two goals down at Dagenham before we got one. It has to be highlighted, it becomes a problem. It's not a one off when it's happening every week. We thought we had stopped this, but now is the time to re-iterate it and what we expect and for the players to go onto the pitch and do it."
"I'll be the first one to hold my hands up if it was tactical or something that I can work on on the training ground, but it's not and we've all agreed that they just switch off. I think that sometimes when you are doing well; it's easier to do it and switch off and wait, expecting things to happen."
"What I said to the press on Tuesday was the truth; it was no different to what I said to the lads after the game. It was no different, it was just the truth. All the good play really doesn't mean anything. I don't know how many people have told me that we are the best team they have played or seen, the football is fantastic, this, that or the other - it really means nothing unless your winning games."
"I believe there is a way to play football and I will not change. It will be easy for me to go like many teams have come here and done. Stick nine behind the ball, get it at the back and boot it as far as you can hoping the lads up front can get you something. That's just not how I am. I want to develop players and the only way that you develop them is by giving them the ball, so I will always try to give them the ball, but within that, I don't want to be the best team that loses games."
"I hate it when I come off and we've lost the game, and somebody comes and says 'unlucky'. I hate it. Somebody did it on Tuesday, it's not unlucky. Unlucky isn't giving away two goals like that. I wasn't very happy."
"Luton are a good side, and I know Mick Harford really well. I know that he is disappointed with the numbers of players that are out injured. They have an unbelievable team out of action. They are missing some players, but they are more than capable of beating anybody in the league, as most teams are if they are on their game. There is no guarantees' of wins, but hopefully our guarantee is that we will be better. I don't want to lose, no matter where it is."
"Taking 30 points of Luton is and was ridiculous. They are more or less saying that you are relegated. With 10, 15 or 17 like Rotherham and Bournemouth - they have a chance. Minus 30 is really difficult. They need ten wins before they even start getting points. It's ridiculous and it's not fair on Luton now. I know at the time that it was another board. You have to look at who is there now. They have tried everything to turn it around or put things right, but 30 points is ridiculous. It's diluted the league. Rotherham and Bournemouth will be looking to finish third from bottom. That will be a good season for them. It's such a big ask for the team on minus 30 points. Obviously I hope they get out of it - after Saturday of course."
