"The mood is alright now, I suppose it probably hasn't been the greatest, I think it is both anger and frustration, were frustrated at the result and then angry at what I thought was a poor display by us last weekend."
"We've tried to fix the problems this week in various ways.We will soon know on Saturday if it works, so we've tried some different stuff. You could say we've done a lot of running this week. I heard Gary Johnson talking this week, he said that his players have found a common hatred and it's me, and I think I'm probably that this week, I'm only being truthful so it's for them to live with, not me."
"Once they have crossed that white line, there's not much that I can do, you can change tactics but you can't change attitudes. I said on Saturday that we do a certain routine and the first thing I put on the board that I wanted the players to do was compete. I think I had compete, aggression and tempo and I didn't have any of that. I can't do that for them, they have to do that. All I have to do is prepare them and try my best to get them in the right mental state. The rest is up to them and they choose whether to do it or not and I felt on Saturday, probably the first time this season, they didn't."
"We work on scoring more goals from open play anyway; we've got some attacking players so you have to work on it. It's not something where we go to hold on, you two don't go over the halfway line and we'll just take a free kick. We've got some talented footballers so we try and make them play in the right areas, the strikers haven't been scoring, but I have complete faith in them I know there talented footballers, it's just a matter of time."
"This week we have tried to remind everybody of what you need to do. I didn't think we had to, but we've had to do some different stuff this week and hopefully it will pay off. The players probably didn't think it was good stuff at the time, but I do."
"We now that Grimsby are a decent side, I think I've seen them three times, they pass it, and they're a good foot balling side. I watched them against Bradford and they played pretty good stuff. They just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net and then got punished at the other end. If your luck isn't with you then that's usually what happens, you have all the play and then get punished. They are capable like any other team on the league, on their day they can beat anybody and it's our job to make sure that it isn't us."
"They've gone seven games without winning a game so far under Mike Newell, he is trying to change things and he is trying to bring in different players. Sometimes it takes a while, fortunately it happened straight away for me and usually you expect it to happen straight away. I think its seven games now that it hasn't but as well, you know that eventually they're going to win a game. You can't go the whole season without winning a game so all I care about is that it isn't us, after us then I don't care they can beat everybody, as long as it's not us."
"It's a pressure game, there's pressure on me, and if there's pressure on me then there should be pressure on the players. You know you can't wrap everybody up in cotton wool. That's what it's about it's about results and you can ask those players who play for Man United, there's pressure on them every week, that's the job. It's a performance related job that they have to perform every week and everyday so I think that it is something that you have to cope with if you're going to have a career that's for sure."
"I've had a few responses from the players this week, some of them were not particularly complimentary but that's life of a manager. We trained today and looked bright and sharp, now we have to make sure that we look bright and sharp tomorrow. We will wait and see, I will not change that's for sure. I believe I know what I am doing, now its upto the players. I am full of praise for them when they are performing and when they are doing what they get paid to do. When they don't, then I can't lie. I do my job to the best of my ability, so everybody else should."
