"Saturday was a great result, and the players have been fantastic. It's been difficult but all you can do is have that belief in what we do and how we try to do things, and especially on the first half it looked a totally different game from the one we had in the FA Cup. We competed so much better and scored some great goals and they were from open play - I'm delighted."
"The first goal was crucial, we've not lost when we have scored first and to be fair, it was a great ball for Bish to get on the end of it. We've talked a lot about why we aren't scoring from open play and we've done a lot of work on it, but it's basic. If you get the chance to put it in, then put it in and if you're a centre forward, get in the box. The chances are it might drop to you and that was it really. I'm delighted for the players' because I think I know what we are trying to do, and it's hard. We have some young players and I touched on it in my programme notes, that confidence is a really fragile thing and it can go as quickly as it comes."
Hursty and Bish were quality. I also have to add to that that Futcher was also quality. They came in and did exactly what we asked them to do, especially with Futch, he was asked to head it and be a defender and I'm delighted. It was good for Hurst and Futch, but Hursty hasn't played for a while, but we gave him a chance on Saturday and I thought he was fantastic. He ran out of legs towards the end, but he was fantastic, and now, for Hursty, he has to be like that every week and stay in the team, and that's the same for everybody. I thought that all we did on Saturday, better than what we have been doing, was the basics. If it's there to be headed, just head it. Head it, tackle and compete"
"They came at us in the second half, and that suited us. We tried to sit the two midfield players in because we have some pace and decent players that can move the ball. The third goal showed that and it was a good goal. We also had a touch of luck. Wayne Brown might have been sent off on another day at 4-0. You can't say it was game over then because Andy Bishop would have gone in goal and it might have been different after that. We had the touch of luck but I think you earn that. Maybe there was some justice in the penalty save. When he doesn't send him off. If it had been me, I thought he had to go, but then you know that he's going to save it. It summed up the whole day for us and for them."
"I'm delighted and relieved for everyone, not just me. The directors have been fantastic. They can see what we are trying to do and how we are trying to do it and they have been ever so supportive, and I have to also give a big thanks to the staff around me. It's not been easy you come in and need to be picked up and they do a really good job at that."
"I suppose you could say that it's a good league this season and even though there are teams with money in the league, and plenty of them. It's not like last year when you look at Peterborough and MK Dons. You knew they were going to run away with it and they did.It makes it really close and if you can be consistent, you are going to be in with a shout. That's our job now, we've had a poor October but we are now on six points from nine in November with one game to play, and if we can put something together at Accrington on Saturday then we will be right in there."
"We tried to bring somebody in on loan during the week, but to be fair, we are always trying. If we think there is somebody that is going to make us better, then we try our best to get them and we were looking at three players last week, but we couldn't get them in, but if we can, we will try again next week. They didn't come because they were not going to be let out on loan. Clubs want to keep their squads together."
