"The gaffer and I had a better weekend after the Gillingham result.Obviously the pressure was on the manager as much as the players to get a result at home.He is desperate to turn this place into a ground that teams fear coming to.He's had it before and unfortunately over the past month, we've seen that slip so it was good to see us regain the situation that we want and crave for."
"We've been shooting ourselves in the foot. We've been playing ok and creating enough chances. The goals that we have conceded have been ridiculous errors and gifts.Nobody has really scored a good goal against us, they have been soft goals.Obviously that gives the opposition a big lift and makes it doubly as hard to get back into the game.We cut out the silly errors on Saturday. We've been working on getting the ball into the box quicker and getting the forwards into the box more than they have been doing.Overall, at one end of the pitch things were good and at the top end of the pitch, we scored four goals at home."
"You always look to give yourself a platform and that was good for the defenders because they have taken the blunt of the manager's criticism, because they have been poor goals, so for them to collectively get a clean sheet was good for their confidence. We also created plenty of chances and it just shows how important it is that we are good in both boxes. We were tight and disciplined in our box and concentrated all the time, whilst at the top end of the pitch we put decent quality into the box, we made sure the runs were right and that we were nice and positive."
"The biggest difference last week was that weren't chasing the game.If you look at the Grimsby, Luton, Rotherham & Exeter games, we had to chase situations. It's difficult because it gives the opposition a massive lift.People know that we are a decent side and we do have a good reputation from the start that we have had. They take the lead here and it's hard to claw it back. The formation that other teams adapt also makes it hard and difficult for us to break down."
"We know the lads have the ability, confidence was the biggest problem. It's easy to play when things are going well.Things have just gone against us, we haven't had the greatest amount of luck.A lot of the errors that we have made have ended up in the back of the net.It is something that we have been trying to work on and boost the boys up, hopefully now we can look forward to a decent unbeaten run, but we know that we have to work hard and that's a standard one for the football club, we have to put the effort in and we have to compete and we did all three things on Saturday really well."
"We've brought Dean Howell in on loan.We are always looking at the balance of the squad and the positions that do need covering. We've also looked at the next five weeks until the window opens again and if anything happened to David Buchanan we would be struggling.Wide left we have Michael Jones, we can play Elliott Bennett there but we don't really want to shift him so we are light there.I know Dean and he did start off as a winger. He's quick, he has really good pace, and he's nice and positive. He moved to left back at Rushden last season and played there for Aldershot at the start of the season. If we want to open the game up and go with two quick wingers, we have Dean on one side and Elliott on the other. He's a positive boy and he will excite the supporters because he is direct."
"It was a sensible move to shift this game to Saturday. It's given us a clear week to work on things and from our point of view; the support that we will take there will benefit us.It should be a great atmosphere and a game that we will be looking to win. It's always a difficult place to go.We watched them at Tranmere the other week in the FA Cup; we've got reports from their game with Chesterfield and Bournemouth. They are a very solid side, workmanlike and we know that they won't give us an inch.We have to be bang on it and we are sure that the confidence we took out of Saturday's performance will help.We have been fantastic away from home and we'd like to keep that run going. We have to get ourselves back up there.Hopefully we will be good enough on the day to do that."
