"We are two weeks in now and I'm pretty happy with things. So far it's gone pretty well. We played well against Everton and won against Radcliffe, though I wouldn't say that we played particularly well, but that is kind of difficult when you put two teams out, but things in general have gone well and the players do look fit."
"The difference in opposition between the two games was also an affect on Monday night. When you're playing a premier league side, you really don't want to show yourself up and at Radcliffe it was the total opposite. It was Radcliffe who didn't want to show them selves up."
"There were one or two tackles in the game, but it's a physical game and that's why we go and play there. It's always good at Radcliffe and I've always enjoyed going there. They have been very good to us down the years and I can't see us ever changing that fixture against Radcliffe."
"I didn't really take a lot from that game though. Obviously we had a look at the trialists again and since then we have let some go and kept some on. That was probably the only thing to take from the game. The players that have been here for a while, I know what to expect from them and what they can do, the game was really for the trialists."
"Damian Allen the midfield player is still here, we were not really looking for a midfield player but since he has come in, he has done really well. He's fitter than everybody and he's a good footballer, so we have kept him in and he's kind of what we like technically. He's really good and athletic."
"Dean Stott, the right back from Preston is still with us. We will keep him and have a look; he's another one that is technically very good. He has a good attitude and he's athletic."
"Simon Johnson is also still here. Junior Brown is still here because we just want to have another look, maybe even look at him in a wide position instead of down the middle. Byron Webster the Centre half is also still here. The rest have gone. That's football. Last year we let Kevin Fields go, but we've had him in over pre-season to take a look. He has great ability, but athletically he struggled, so we gave him the summer to get fit. He's fitter than he was but when I look at what I have got at that age, he's way down so we've let him go. It's really tough."
"Progress down Lower Gigg Lane in going to plan. The fence is up, but its keeps on getting broken down, but we keep putting it back up. It's a lot better than it was and it's much more private for our use, but obviously it can still get better. For now, it's going in the right direction. We do have plans for down there with portacabins possible coming in."
"When I was a player here there was a pavilion to get changed. Over the years it deteriorated and got vandalised, but we are hoping that within the year we can get some facilities down there, but the big thing now is that we hope people respect it. We will keep it tidy and we won't abuse anything, but it is getting damaged at the moment and that is the problem."
"Fitness wise, things are looking good. The good thing for us is that the players came in fit and we didn't have to do a lot, within what we have done has been quite a lot of football. We've also been boxing, we are swimming on Monday and Boxing again next week so we are mixing it up a little."
"Pre-season has changed over the years. As long as I know they are fit, then I am not one for lots of running. We do do some running. When I was a player, it was running all the time. Sometimes you couldn't walk after. We do running, but only enough so that I can do some ball work and get some quality technical work in."
"We will be doing the same with the trialists on Saturday, but there isn't many of them left now. That will give our own players more minutes on the pitch. I haven't really seen anything that is going to make me change my starting eleven for Bournemouth yet."
"I've never gone into the dressing room before a pre-season game and said 'we need the result', but I did at Radcliffe. I didn't want to lose the game, I don't care who we are playing - I don't want to lose. I don't want to lose on Saturday when Oldham come, but I didn't go in before the Everton game and say I don't want to lose…"
