"It was a tough game, we knew Sheffield United were a tough side and so they proved. We started pretty well, played all right in the first half but tapered off a little bit towards the end.For the second half, it's kind of hard because the players know that it's going to be changed. They made six changes at half time and then on 60 minutes we made five or six changes. It becomes a different game and it's more or less over."

"For me, I looked at what I wanted to see.I wanted more energy from the start and I thought I had that.Chances wise it was pretty even, we didn't have too much to do and they didn't have too much to do.Their keeper made a great save to stop Danny Carlton from scoring, but there were some good bits and there were some no so good bits."

"It was just what you expect form a pre-season game.I never get carried away if we do play well or we don't play well.It makes no difference; all I am concerned about is Bournemouth."

"It's difficult, we have to look at the trialists and see if they fit into what we are trying to do.It is kind of difficult obviously when they are changing six and I am changing six.The quality that they are changing is a little bit different to mine, but you just have to do it, also I don't want to over do my players, they will play a certain amount of minutes so that they will be ready for the Bournemouth game."

"The first half was ok; the first half was a better first half than we saw last week against Oldham.I'm not that close to making decisions on trialists so we will wait.Danny Stott and Junior Brown have both left us after Saturdays game so we are left with Byron Webster, Simon Johnson and Damian Allen. It was my choice to let the two go."

"Simon Johnson will get more time on Wednesday so we will see what he's got.Danny Carlton and Ryan Lowe now have an opportunity with Andy Bishop and Andy Morrell both being out.Saturday was only the second game that they have played together. They do give you effort and I like that.Danny Carlton is a handful. There's not many times when a centre half goes for it, it's not a big challenge and I like that.I like his endeavour.Ryan is a really clever player, though he may just want to impress too much instead of just doing it nice and basic."

"Stephen Dawson was excellent on Saturday, and I don't think he looked out of place at all playing against a team, that was one game away form the Premiership and with all the experience they had.He doesn't do friendlies and he was another one that needed a full 90 minutes because he missed the Oldham game."

"We hope that Andy Morrell joins the first team on Thursday. He's going for another scan this week because he has had a problem on his abductor muscle. He went to see a specialist this Thursday and he gave him the ok, but we are just making sure. He's having an MRI scan on Wednesday and if that goes ok, then he will start. The only problem now is that he needs a mini pre-season."

"Its pretty difficult for him and he missed pre-season last year as well, but the good thing is, Bish and Mozza are coming back and they will both be more or less at the same time.Andy Bishop is out for two weeks so he won't lose the fitness that he's got, then he will just need sharpening up.Its not six weeks, we are looking at two to three weeks to having him back."

"The operation that Andy had is different now, he had it done on Friday and was up walking around on Saturday. It's not like it used to be so we are looking at three weeks hopefully. We are still looking at adding to the squad as best as we can, hopefully we can do that as soon as possible. There isn't too much room in the budget to bring players in, but there is some.We can all see where it's needed, the first eleven started on Saturday and there's not much in the second."

"For Wednesday's game, we will have a full team out and we will treat it properly and we are kind of looking forward to it."

"Wayne Brown felt like he had pulled his thigh, its not gone, but he got the twinge so that's obviously why we took him off.Cameron Belford tweaked something on Friday.James Spencer came in because we needed a goalkeeper to go onto the bench on Saturday.Neil Cutler phoned him and he came in, he will probably come in training as well next week.We are not sure how serious Wayne is, but we will see next week.It was more as a precaution than anything."
