"On Tuesday I asked for supporters to write in and tell me why the gate was so low, and to be fair, quite a few have done just that and I've read every single one of them."
"Its difficult for me as the manager because I want this club to move on quickly. I've read all the emails, all the letters and it just seems that the underlying factor in all this is that there is no money about. People just cannot afford it. That's not an excuse, that's reality. Sometimes we sit here in a good job and we want everything and we are a little bit cocooned away from reality and what is happening outside."
"I totally understand that people can't afford it, there is more important things than football. For us it's frustrating, unfortunately that's life. Its frustrating for me because I want to move this club on and we all want to move the club on. We haven't got somebody that is going to bank roll the club and put millions of pounds in, and to be honest, we don't want that. We don't want to rely on one person. We want the club to run itself. It is difficult without getting people in through the gates, there is only so far that you can go, but at the same time I totally understand and accept that it is expensive to watch football."
"We have seven games this month, its difficult and people will pick the games you want to come and see. The unfortunate thing is reality - there is no money about and I totally accept that. I'm sure that if I was paying to watch the football I would be exactly the same. It was just such a frustration between the Rochdale game and the Macclesfield game. That's life, people just can't afford, there is more important things than for football for everybody and rightly so."
"We had a fantastic response to the emails and there are some fantastic and constructive things coming into the club. One of the things that have been highlighted is that down the road at Blackburn and Bolton, it's cheaper to watch premiership football. Maybe we have to look at that in the future. We have to attract those people to us and I think we have to sit with the directors and see what we can do."
"I'm just the manager, they are just the players. Managers and players come and go, supporters don't - they stay with the club, this is there club so if they can help us make it better then there opinions are really valid."
"Six straight wins is a statement to the rest of the league, I've always thought we were capable and in this league, more than any league you can go on a run like this. We've also done this without playing the greatest of football; we've done enough to win the games. At this stage of the season a lot of the games will be scrappy. Teams at the bottom don't want to lose, teams at the top don't want to lose either so it becomes a little cagey and tight, but I'm delighted with six wins."
"After the start to the season we had, I spoke to a lot of people and they all said, just relax - they will come good, they are proven at this level. They have done that and I have to say, I think they are getting better, there is a belief about this team whether it's in training or not. You can just see the confidence. We play a practise match every Friday, doing team shape. At most clubs that I have been at, it's usually not the first team that wins the practise match because the first team are thinking about Saturday. Here, the first team wins, every Friday because they want to win. It doesn't matter if it's Friday, Saturday or whenever - they want to win. They are used to winning, and they expect to win."
"We have gotten ourselves into a strong position, six points ahead of those below. I'm not bothered what's below us, I'm bothered about what's in front of us. First of all can we catch Bournemouth, then after that can we catch Rochdale. That's the target, I'm not worried about those below us though obviously we know what they need and what they have to do but for us we are in poll position. We have put ourselves there, now we have to stay there or be better. That's the target, be as good as you can be."
"Chesterfield is the next tough game, but we've already played Bournemouth, Rochdale, Rotherham - they are all tough games. It will be no different to playing Macclesfield. If you're not at it, they can beat you. Chesterfield has some good players, they are in the play off positions and they will be fancying the game. If they beat us, then they will be closer. We are going there with no other thoughts than we can win the game, our away record says that. We will go there with our plan and an idea of how to stop them."
