We didn't work hard enough
"We were lucky to go in at half time at 1-1 and even though we had chances, we just didn't do enough to win the game. We are creating chances but not doing enough to work the keeper."
"It's frustrating for everyone, but we just have to keep going and dig ourselves out of this hole that we are in at the moment, the good thing is that we are third in the league and as frustrated as everyone is, and we all are - these things happen."
"It's a time for calm, but people will have their opinions so we let them have their opinions, we can't do anything other than keep going. I've never faulted the lads for effort, but I have to say the the first half on Tuesday - we didn't work hard enough to stop them. It's probably the first time in a long time that I can say that."
"We didn't do enough to stop them from playing. It doesn't matter who you are or whether its Darlington or Rochdale, if you don't stop people from playing, then they can hurt you. Darlington have some good players and they are difficult to play against, but we were not good enough on Tuesday night."
"We gave them a stupid penalty and that was something to hang onto.We were fortunate enough to get our penalty."
"Stephen Dawson was trying to drag us through the game; he had a difficult game on a difficult night. Everybody is a bit edgy at the moment and it shows, whether it's the players or the supporters because we all want to do so well, it's just not happening at the moment."
"Andy Bishop and Tom Elliott will both benefit from a run out. Tom Elliott made an impact when he came on which is what we wanted. As for Bish, tonight was really the first time we have been able to start him. We've wanted to play him before but the medical people have said don't start him until Tuesday but the 60 minutes will benefit him."
"He is feeling it and you could see with his pace and the shock of being back into first team football, it was apparent to see and it wasn't for the lack of effort, but he just wasn't lively as we know he can be, but I think that is to be expected."
"Now it's Macclesfield on Saturday and that's another difficult game, it's their first home game since Keith died, the funeral is on Monday and it will be an emotional time for everyone. He was well respected and there are a lot of people here that knew him from his time here, it will be a difficult time but we have to put all this behind us.We have an important job to do and go there to get three points."
