Hello and welcome to Hannah's first away game match report, here at Brisbane Road. The last time the Shakers visited here, it was Sir Barrow's first game in charge and we game away 2-0 losers, after 2 goals in 60 seconds. Here's hoping for a reverse scoreline today, and maybe some more goals for the Newby/Nuge partnership.

The squad remains unchanged, and therefore Newby keeps his place after his display vs Macc last Saturday. The Orient sat in 6th place in the table prior to kick off, a similar place to Macclesfield last week, so surely that means they're beatable, she says.

After his holiday, it's the return of the Macc as Jimmy comes back into the press box. We've got plenty of Jaffa Cakes, and after another Bury group hug, we're good to go in our lovely lemon coloured kit.

Nuge started early, appealing in the box straight away but nothing was given. Two challenges within a minute left Newby and Kennedy grounded but both got straight back up, made of stern stuff our lads. Bury making the promising start with most of the possession, and good passing in midfield.

However, a defensive error on 8 minutes resulted in Challinor back pedalling to cover Lee Steele who effectively rounded Glyn to finish, and put the Orient ahead from about 6 yards. Such was the case against Macc with Tipton's goal, and hopefully the Shakers will pick up the game once again

Another Orient attack on 10 minutes could have made it two, but thanks to a Challinor clearance, Bury were still in the game. Seconds later, Simpson fired miles wide, but it was a good chance to double to lead, with Bury obviously panicking at the back.

Nuge laid off the ball to BBM on 13 minutes across the area, but his shot hit the Orient defence and was cleared, but a chance to get back in the game, good work from the pair. Two misunderstandings in midfield from BBM and Flicker resulted in 2 silly throw ins given away on 16 minutes, let's hope those communication problems will get sorted.

A shot from Alexander on 19 minutes could have made it two for Orient but he fired just wide. Bury needing to get back into the game at this point, and definitely not showing signs of stepping off the gas, especially the front two who were still making runs and creating chances.

A harsh challenge on Newby from Barnard on 22 minutes resulted in the first booking of the afternoon, and judging by the Shakers disciplinary record this season, we'd like to keep it that way. Unsworth was a bit quick to take a throw in on 25 minutes and he looks a bit like he's had a perm, possibly living up to his LadyBoy title.

Garner had to punch clear another Orient attack on 27 minutes, the Shakers defence still struggling slightly. Orient showing more imagination going forward, but there's still time for the Shakers to sort that out, and let's hope they don't leave it too late.

Bury won a corner on 31 minutes, which was taken by BBM and met the feet on Challinor, but the Orient defence cleared well. Despite the promising start from Bury, since their goal Orient had been playing the better football and creating more of the chances.

A Nuge shot from far out on 36 minutes found the hands of Harrison, but a good strong shot none the less. Kelham is still stood in the allocated area outside of the dugout with a very pensive look on his face, arms folded, wonder what he makes of this game so far.

Nugent did very well to round the Orient defence on 43 minutes, and was looking for support, and to be fair, there wasn't enough, and Flicker had a shot from far out which could have gone out for a throw in, and straight into the building site behind the net. Seconds later, Nuge's legs ran in overdrive to get to a BBM cross but only just missed out to the hands of Harrison.

One minute of extra time shown by the fourth official, which was played out to no avail, and the half finishes 1-0. A good half if you're an Orient fan.

Half Time, Orient 1 - Shakers 0

Second half underway and no subs made by either side. Graham and Kelham both stood on the touchline, as Chris Porter looks to be coming on soon. Woodthorpe took a shot on 47 minutes but it was wide, but given that it was from quite a way out, we'll let him off.

A Bury corner on 49 minutes taken by Flicker met the heads of both teams but it was eventually cleared. Nuge misread a cross from Newby a minute later which was a chance to get the Shakers back in the game. A strong throw in from Hunt on 52 minutes resulted in a good cross for the Orient, that was eventually cleared.

The second booking was again for Orient and David Hunt who kicked the ball away in retaliation after a challenge on Nuge. Porter's jumper is now off and he's poised to come on.

Sub for Bury on 54 minutes - Chris Porter scampers on for Flicker

Nuge was upended on the edge of the box on 57 minutes, and the resulting free kick from Kennedy was cleared and a corner followed. After meeting the heads of Orient it was then cleared also. Another cross from Kennedy met Porter's head but went out for a goal kick.

A long throw into the box from Challinor on the hour mark could have been dangerous and made the Orient defence panic slightly, but was hoofed away. Come on lads, we need to be putting these chances away. Another chance on 62 minutes resulted in Swailes putting the ball over the bar. Nice to see his presence in the box though.

Bury piling on the pressure on 64 minutes and Nuge met a Challinor cross in the box but headed in the wrong direction. It's been said before but we've got to use this pressure wisely. We probably wouldn't have lost at Oxford if we had.

Sub for Orient on 66 minutes - Stuart Wardley replaces Andy Scott, to a huge round of applause from the home fans.

A good Orient attack on 68 was cleared well by Danny Swailes, as they were by no means sitting on that goal. Garner cleared an Orient corner seconds later, once again keeping the Shakers in the game.

Nuge did some excellent work on the wing on 70 minutes and set Mattis up for the one of the easiest shots he'll get in a while, but he fired over the bar. Nuge was back seconds later with a shot but not enough power behind to ball to get past Harrison.

The game turned on 74 minutes as a brilliantly placed cross from Kennedy was met with a diving header from Porter which found the back of the net, much to the delight of the Shakers faithful who made the trip down.

Orient 1 - Shakers 1

Sub for Orient on 76 minutes, Jabo Ibehre replacing Gary Alexander.

Sub for Orient on 78 minutes, Tom Newey replacing David Hunt.

A cross on 80 minutes found the feet of Nuge who smashed it against the post, and it could have easily been his 9th of the season. Seconds later, Newby left the ball for Nuge in the box who fired into the Orient defence and out for a corner. Can't help thinking they could have been goals number 9 and 10 there for the Nuge.

Bury were definitely taking control of this game by 83 minutes, and against the run of play, a close range header from the Orient attack was expertly saved by Garner, but surely it would have been hard to miss from there! We're glad he did though.

A cross from Kennedy on 86 minutes could have been blasted in to seal the game but again not enough support in the box, a problem I'm sure we've all noticed a couple of times over the past few weeks.

A double substitution for Bury on 87 minutes - CKM replacing David Nugent, and Simon Whaley replacing Jon Newby.

The Orient faithful branding Nuge a "cheat" as he makes his way off, but surely if the linesman doesn't indicate an offside then that's not Nuge's fault. He's ran his socks off again today, as has Newby.

Orient had a chance to seal the win on 90 minutes but Glyn came out of his net and saved the day again. Whoever said being a Bury fan was easy. I think all our hearts stopped simultaneously then.

3 minutes of added time indicated as Simon Whaley was fouled as he attempted an attack, much to the disgust of the Orient faithful. I somehow doubt the linesmen will be on their Christmas card lists after today's game. Tense times indeed for all as both sides search for that elusive winner.

It never came, and the last few seconds resulted in a Bury attack which came to nothing. All in all, a much better half from the Shakers, and a game in which they should have won in the end. But, the "shoulds" and "could haves" don't count at the end of the season, and Bury will want to be building on that second half performance next week at Darlo.

Attendance 3398, 198 from Bury.

An early Orient strike was undone by some crisp Bury football, but they couldnt get the deserved winner
